What travellers are saying
- cjfog92Ellington, CT332 contributionsExcellent place to walk on the beach in the winter. It was windy but beach is flat and solid. Pretty views and nice to look at the houses.Written 9 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- NHjoSaco, ME15,302 contributionsOn the way to Portsmouth, I stopped at the yearly fine arts & crafts outdoor festival at the Laudholm Reserve. There were about 150 artists selling their crafts in the historic buildings, in booths, and under tents. It was a great way to spend a few hours in such a beautiful place.Written 14 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - pelargeTennessee269 contributionsThis beautiful one-mile walk along the salt marsh with occasional ocean views was one of the highlights of our trip to Coastal Maine! Although it was drizzly and foggy, honestly the weather just added to the experience. There is a bar code to scan when you start. Be sure to do this, as the numbered stops are not described on signage. Free parking, restrooms at the trailhead, worth a stop!Written 23 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - F3981FJpatriciakUpper Peninsula, MI53 contributionsWe loved our visit to Wells beach, we were going mostly in morning for the low tide to see different sea critters. Our 2 and 4 yr old grandsons loved it, our teen granddaughters loved it and us adults had fun too! Misty morning fog which I think is usual for Maine. But was clearing as we were leaving just before lunchtime.
It was a walk from where we parked to get to beach but not a bad walk!Written 24 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The lot attendant informed us that the lot is full but 5 spaces are open on the side of the road. We were excited to get one of the 5 spots. 5 hours later we find a parking ticket on the windshield for $63. Unbeknownst to us, we had to pay. As we passed by the lot area, there was a small sign to pay. On the side of the road where we were told to park, all it said was no parking beyound this point. We would have gladly paid if we were told by the attendant that we needed to pay. $6 per hour or $30 is a lot cheaper than $63. But than if he informed us, they wouldn't have made that much moneyWritten 11 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NHjoSaco, ME15,302 contributionsOn a country drive to visit family in NH, I stopped at Chase Farms to pick up a few Honeycrisp apples. This time around, they had all kinds of fall treats that included apple cider, pumpkin Whoopie pies, apple crisp, pumpkin bread, cider donuts, and of course, several varieties of pumpkins. Their homemade chicken pies are also great.Written 26 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Maurene_KDover, NH12,586 contributionsAlthough Spiller Farm has its address on a different street from Spillers’ Farm Store, the farm is diagonally across the road from the store.
After lunch at Spillers’ Farm Store, I went over to Spiller Farm where it was partly about apples and mostly all about pumpkins.
The rainy growing season had not been kind to a number of pumpkins. Many had a lots of warts on them. But, that didn’t stop people from coming to pick out some pumpkins.
While I was looking over the pumpkins already brought over from the pumpkin patch, a woman with three children came along with a cart full of gourds and pumpkins. They went on the scale one by one. Surprisingly, her total was under $25.00.
I rate Spiller Farm at 4.50 and can recommend a visit.

- Bonnie R1 contributionMy husband and I have been going to Harding’s for years. If you enjoy browsing in bookstores, this one is for you. Selections range from historical, biographies, fiction, and our favorite, mysteries. I have even discovered 4 books signed by Sue Grafton! You never know what treasures you will find among thousands of books lining the shelves. Mr. Harding is very knowledgeable and is there, faithfully, seven days a week. Several visits to Harding’s are a must during our Maine vacation.Written 30 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Russell WMaine2,913 contributionsYes, this store has seasonal clothing and accessories, but also sports memorabilia, jewelry and things you might not expect. - Russell WMaine2,913 contributionsThis store has plenty of interesting items to capture one's attention. Go back in time to the 1970s or the 1870s and in between. Oh, there are my Tonka toys. Run by friendly staff and well-located at the beginning of the Route 1/Post Road summer "parking lot" where traffic begins to slow to a crawl. Visitors will find plenty of items for sale to pique their interest and there's a lot of square footage of objects to peruse. You might find that item that you've been looking for forever. The parking lot could stand enlarging. This is a popular stop.Written 17 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Russell WMaine2,913 contributionsYou can accomplish so much in just one stop. Hannaford grocery, Bank of America (with drive-thru ATM), Flagship Cinema, Dollar Tree, Renys (A Maine Adventure), Pizza Market (Best pizza around and they have a 20" pie), Naviina day spa, Wells Fashion Outlet N' More (for all your New England sports gear and more) Tully's Beer and Wine, and a place to get your nails done. The entire parking lot was recently repaved and resprayed. Two entrances, one with a light, and you can drop off your redeemable cans and bottles at the Clynk shed. There is also access to other stores abutting the plaza area.Written 21 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
