Wasn't sure if this site would be worth the trip but I was wrong. Lots to do here and many great photo's to take. A lot of walking but if your in decent shape it's not that bad. Several trail options thru beautiful wooded area's. The rangers are very helpful and can tell you what to do. Au Sable river is beautiful but you have to put in a little work to see it. Worth the trip!

This was an amazing place to visit! The springs are in the middle of a national forest on the banks of the Au Sable River, so the views are gorgeous. There are 300 stairs to go down, so be cautious…you have to climb back up them! But it is well worth the effort. It was not crowded when I went and the weather was perfect, so it was very peaceful and calming. There are a few small waterfalls as you go down, and boardwalks to walk along when you reach the bottom. You won’t be sorry you came!

Really quick...I'm from New England. This beach is better than 99% of what the Northeast has. The sand is perfect. The water of Huron is clear and there is plenty of room to spread out here with friends, family, have a picnic, hang out at the accompanying park (they are also building a Hotel within a stone's throw that should be complete by 2024). There is a bathhouse, rest room, a snack and drink vendor and a cute little coffee shop, Oscodo Museum and vintage movie theatre with a couple blocks as well. It's pretty easy to spend the whole afternoon here. Highly recommended beach that rivalled anything on Mackinac Island. Possibly the best beach on Michigan's east coast as a lot of these pictures don't do it justice.

Beautiful in the winter! A must see if in the area. The 300 steps weren’t too bad and were well kept. The view of the Lake and Springs was awesome.

During our recent visit to the Hilltop, our meal was very good. We have dined here several times over the past 25 years. Our only complaint is that the service was lacking. Wait staff NEVER wiped down the table after prior patrons left and she rarely came to the table to take new drink/food orders. It was, however, a busy weekend night. Additional wait staff was needed.
