- terrsallWaterloo, IN621 contributionsWasn't sure if this site would be worth the trip but I was wrong. Lots to do here and many great photo's to take. A lot of walking but if your in decent shape it's not that bad. Several trail options thru beautiful wooded area's. The rangers are very helpful and can tell you what to do. Au Sable river is beautiful but you have to put in a little work to see it. Worth the trip!Written 17 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DTLivonia, MI14 contributionsThis was an amazing place to visit! The springs are in the middle of a national forest on the banks of the Au Sable River, so the views are gorgeous. There are 300 stairs to go down, so be cautious…you have to climb back up them! But it is well worth the effort. It was not crowded when I went and the weather was perfect, so it was very peaceful and calming. There are a few small waterfalls as you go down, and boardwalks to walk along when you reach the bottom. You won’t be sorry you came!Written 15 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- cju1979Nashville, TN57 contributionsReally quick...I'm from New England. This beach is better than 99% of what the Northeast has. The sand is perfect. The water of Huron is clear and there is plenty of room to spread out here with friends, family, have a picnic, hang out at the accompanying park (they are also building a Hotel within a stone's throw that should be complete by 2024). There is a bathhouse, rest room, a snack and drink vendor and a cute little coffee shop, Oscodo Museum and vintage movie theatre with a couple blocks as well. It's pretty easy to spend the whole afternoon here. Highly recommended beach that rivalled anything on Mackinac Island. Possibly the best beach on Michigan's east coast as a lot of these pictures don't do it justice.Written 10 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Linda LMidland, MI26 contributionsThis visit was a positive experience. The volunteers who maintain and staff the aviation museum at the former Wurtsmith Air Force Base are knowledgeable and passionate about aviation history. They have stories to tell that make the history come alive.
The museum is open three days a week, four hours each of those days. Plan your visit, it’s worth the effort.
Check out the gift shop. It’s well-stocked with quality items. I chose airplane earrings from their jewelry collection.
It was well worth the drive to visit Oscoda and the Wurtsmith Air Museum.Written 19 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The view of the Lake and Springs was awesome.Written 12 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Denise V4 contributionsThe staff was super friendly and very helpful both at the beginning of our canoe trip and end. It was super easy to reserve a canoe. Gave great advise on when the best time to start the canoe trip so that it wasn't busy or crowded. The whole trip was very calming and relaxing.Written 12 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
