A lot of walking but if your in decent shape it's not that bad. Several trail options thru beautiful wooded area's. The rangers are very helpful and can tell you what to do. Au Sable river is beautiful but you have to put in a little work to see it. - DTLivonia, MI14 contributionsThis was an amazing place to visit! The springs are in the middle of a national forest on the banks of the Au Sable River, so the views are gorgeous. There are 300 stairs to go down, so be cautious…you have to climb back up them! But it is well worth the effort. It was not crowded when I went and the weather was perfect, so it was very peaceful and calming. There are a few small waterfalls as you go down, and boardwalks to walk along when you reach the bottom. - Denise V4 contributionsThe staff was super friendly and very helpful both at the beginning of our canoe trip and end. It was super easy to reserve a canoe. Gave great advise on when the best time to start the canoe trip so that it wasn't busy or crowded.
