What a surprise to find this state of the art, highly sophisticated and interactive museum in the Mississippi Delta in a small town.
We were on the American Queen Steamboat Company cruise on the beautiful brand new riverboat The Countess. Our first excursion was the Grammy Museum in the Mississippi Delta town of Cleveland. Wow! It is so fun and interesting. All throughout the museum you can listen to the tunes, watch videos, engage with the displays! My favorite was an exhibit that took you from the earliest recording methodology the Gramophone, then the 78’s, then the 45’s, then the tape cassette, then digital and now surround sound. It was so cool! Take the Mississippi cruise on American Queen Steamboat Company and visit the Grammy Museum.

Stopped by here because we were I the area. Wouldn’t travel far out of the way to visit. Was a good learning experience. Enjoyable. Lots of history information.

This place is worth a stop. Enjoy the lovely scenery. River boats bring buses of tourists here, so that indicates it is one of the best places to visit in the vicinity.

This small but information packed museum details the struggles that the people of Greenville went through during the massive Mississippi Flood in 1927.
A good place to stop for a thorough history of the event.

It really is unbelievable how much "stuff" they have packed into this small museum. It was a real treat to visit and a person could spend hours just gazing at all of the items saved here for viewing.

The local lady who acted as our guide gave us a complete history of each of the many writers ( the most per capita in the USA, I think she said?) who hail from Greenville. Some good stories.

The outside of this building underplays what you experience inside. The actual temple itself is in immaculate condition despite having a very small active congregation, they clearly have a number of generous sponsors to help maintain this church.
The back rooms contain a wealth of archive materials in assorted forms and that is where you might choose to spend most of your visit, again with a knowledgeable guide to help you get the best out of the displays.
One criticism I might offer is that some of the 'staff' on duty could have been a bit more knowledgeable - I asked a few questions which they did not seem to know the answers to. Otherwise very welcoming and helpful.

The 1901 Armitage Herschell Carousel housed in the former gym of this ordinary-looking recycled school building is the crown jewel of the E.E. Bass Cultural Arts Center and a historic treasure that any town would be proud to put on display. This rare gem is in working condition too! The brochure we were given says that the carousel operates only on Saturdays. We were able to ride it on a Sunday, but perhaps special arrangements were made for our tour group. If riding the carousel is a vital consideration, be sure to call ahead to verify operating times.

The art galleries are interesting, but not noteworthy.

The Air Force museum was interesting to look through while waiting to fly out. The museum was small but was packed with information.

Nice little stop to get good pictures of something different. Nice little stop for information, for maps of the state and booklet, nice little museum upstairs showing off a little history of the area. Nice welcoming friendly staff as well.. don’t forget to sign in. 😎
Plenty of parking, plenty of picnic areas, and plenty of opportunity for pictures. The bathroom is a side door & closes at night -just an FYI.

Although only seen from the outside, it was an unusually shaped building. The building material was also quite different from other materials found in the town.

It's right on the MS River! But it is isolated & kinda spooky. Most of the time it is closed due to flooding.

The young man in the cage with the twists standing up there doing nothing & when the lady asked him was he open; he snapped her up saying ‘no ma’am I’m not’. Did I mention all the change machines were not working. Smart tail children will hurt your business.
