- DJtrinivibesBronx, NY1,841 contributionsthis beach was so beautiful I couldn't believe my eyes. We stood at the beach for like 10 minutes just taking it all in. This has to be one of the best beaches on the island , close completion with Shoal bay Beach. This beach is so so clean, the sand was so soft and white, the water was so beautiful and green and there are few bars and restaurants along the beach to enjoy some good food and refreshments if you did not bring any. The sun was very very hot so be prepared to take shelter under a tree and walk with sunblock. Also enjoy the view of St Martin from this beach and also enjoy the fishes that are swimming close to the shore. enjoy and thank me later.Written 3 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - India B6 contributionsI've been to Sandy Island twice, and each time we've had a wonderful experience. The food is amazing, and the staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. A special mention to Dean, the manager, who is incredibly personable and truly enhances the overall experience.
We've enjoyed the snapper, lobster, and the curry shrimp appetizer—each of which I highly recommend.Written 24 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Follow signs to waves ( a small beach bar with a nice atmosphere) then walk out to the beach.Written 1 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GRZChicago, IL11,874 contributionsConsidering that Anguilla doesn't have "too many landmarks" of course if you exclude nice beaches :) this is definitely a cool place to stop by, and it's so super easy!
Also, this isn't just a shipwreck - if you go behind it the way it you can see that it's almost as if someone surgically cut it through - the way the engine and other pieces are rusting away... it's almost like a piece of art as insane as it sounds
TIP: just park in the area by the Sandy Ground Beach or the newly established restaurant... easy walk but get some hat/sunscreen on you - also not a must but water shoes could be helpful, we didnt have them but it was a bit painful for just a momentWritten 10 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Nothing special, then again that ‘s what is so special. - Nikki NNew York City, NY149 contributionsI didn't have high expectations since Anguilla is not marketed as a dive destination, but I try to take advantage of diving whenever I can. We arrived on Anguilla during stormy weather and the conditions were not great for diving, but Matthew communicated with me daily and we were able to get 2 dives in during my time on the island on a day with good visibility. The dives were a lot of fun - we went to a reef and a wreck and saw several lobsters, a sting ray, turtle, and plenty of fish, including parrot fish, barracuda, lionfish, as well as healthy fans, and coral. Matthew and the crew were amazing - and I look forward to returning to Anguilla for more diving with the Scuba Shack team!Written 9 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Grady FCovington, LA17 contributionsGotcha Garfield's was great! Captain Cody and Erin were wonderful hosts for our family and made our tour special. They were extremely knowledgeable about the area and took us to some really cool places.
Our morning started with one of their first-class boats picking us up right off the beach at Meads Bay. Imagine exploring a secluded island and searching for the right conch shell, eating lunch on your own private island, or playing volleyball (Cody and Erin were pretty good) on Prickly Pear Island and cooling off on a world-class beach without anyone else around! Whatever you are looking for, Gotcha Garfield will make your trip special.Written 6 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We cruised along the coast line, stopping to paddle board and snorkel. Great pictures by the arch. We then went to Prickly Pear for lunch. Jimmy and his crew serve an amazing lunch on the beach. We ended the day at Little Bay, jumping off the big rock, snorkeling, and doing rum shots with the crew. Such a great experience. So relaxed and well laid out plan for the day. We saw so much. Highly recommend Anguilla's Rum and Reel.Written 2 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- readervivNashville, TN34 contributionsCaptain Vince and crew made this a wonderful fishing trip despite kind of rough seas. My daughter and husband both caught a number of fish, and I really enjoyed watching them and drinking the island's beer. It was a little hard to find the place, but once we did, we had a ball. We had the boat to ourselves, there was shade, there was a bathroom, and there was lots to see as we rode around looking for the fish!
I'm not a fisherperson, but I can't tell you how much I enjoyed watching the Captain and my family enjoying reeling in the fish.Written 27 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - shannonlutzCypress, TX65 contributionsLet me just say we had a wonderful experience with this private charter. Punky and Ritz were awesome and very informative! They gave us a history on the landscape we were passing by which was a bonus. They took us to Little Bay where we saw amazing sea turtles. We also stopped at Shoal Bay and then finally to Prickly Pear island where we had a fantastic lunch. The boat was clean and even has a small bathroom. There was shade if you needed it as well. Would recommend using them.Written 9 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
