What travellers are saying
- Alicia_JAChicago291 contributionsThe ballpark is gorgeous. There are few other MLB fields that have such a beautiful location, especially in the heart of a historic city. PNC is cashless, so go prepared with a credit card. The food was decent and there was a good mix of options to choose from. The pro shop is large and the prices are reasonable. There are also lots of good photo ops around the park. The area around PNC has really been developed and cleaned up.Written 30 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MichelleBEVACharlottesville, VA7 contributionsWe recently relocated to the Pittsburgh area, and have visited the conservatory twice already. We bought an annual membership. Highly recommend! It's our favorite place in the city so far.Written 4 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Alicia_JAChicago291 contributionsThis was out 1st stop while in Pittsburgh. The incline may be a tourist attraction but it is rich with history and supper cool. We bought a roundtrip ticket, spent some time at the top in the small museum, and then visited a next door restaurant for dessert and drinks. The view at the top cannot be beat and we were able to see all major landmarks in Pittsburgh.Written 30 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ElvisAndrusArlington, TX805 contributionsWe are glad we got there, even by mistake... we were looking for a music venue at the bottom, not the top. The fenicular is free for 65+ and even though it says you need a special card several staff said "nobody is going to argue with you." Pittsburgh has over 100 neighbourhoods and this one is its own. Great view for sure. We had considered staying here but none of the AirBnb photos were from the property so likely it had no view. I would plan to include a trip up with a meal and a destination. We found it hard to navigate and even after the incline you are going up so not for those with mobility issues. Probabaly a great place to live!Written 1 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ranndy H1 contributionVery interesting and very enjoyable.
Tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable and even a little humorous at times.Written 3 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My favorite are the dinosaurs. Recently I discovered the gem room. - Karen G4 contributionsWhat dazzling, delightful surprises this unsuspecting warehouse holds. Collections of thousands of bicycles dating from the early 1900s to present including bicycles ridden in ET, by Pee-wee Herman, by The Monkees (a 4-seater!), and so many other treasures! There are even miscellaneous items like the pinball machine played by the Fonz in the Happy Days series.

My partner really enjoyed the sports history of Pittsburgh, while I really enjoyed the Heinz history and the super big ketchup bottle. The museum has a great gift shop that includes many good book titles and t-shirts.Written 30 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - james b9 contributionsBest place to get gifts for the family. I always feel safe walking to the strip from downtown Burg. A lot of good restaurants on the way too.Written 11 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- 555DPFParkton, MD33 contributionsWonderful Experience- fascinating artist and so many pieces of art to see. The docent recommended starting on the top floor and working your way down through the exhibits. Great recommendation and I would like to add that the film on the first floor is great. I wish I would have watched it first before starting my exhibit experience.Written 17 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kim S18 contributionsMediocre zoo to visit. Enjoyed the animals I saw and several exhibits were closed or empty. Cute gift shops for children. Several options for eating. The grounds could use weeding and maintenance.Written 29 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Christopher K2 contributionsWe happened to stay at an Airbnb near the National Aviary. After a visit to the Andy Warhol Museum, we happened across the National Aviary on our walk back to the Airbnb. What an amazing find! We learned so much about penguins (18 different species in the world today with five endangered), Andean Condors, tropical birds, and so much more! This is a must visit for anyone interested in learning, nature, and/or a hands-on experience.Written 2 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ElvisAndrusArlington, TX805 contributionsI love big green spaces in the middle of cities. And that is what this is. Must have taken some incredible will to complete the reclamation project. Really close to walk from the core of downtown and once there some nice public art and some subtle but delghtful interpretatons of the history. And a museum if you want more. It was not crowed on April 11, one of the first really nice days of the year. So my rating is as much for what it is as for anything in particular that we did there. You'd like to think that come summer it would have a little hum and buzz.Written 1 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jenifer W4 contributionsExcellent science museum. Really enjoyed the model train area. Great historical depiction of the Pittsburgh area. The exhibit on Mars and the body exhibits were also good. Lots of hands-on exhibits. Did not see the Vikings exhibit or the 3D movies. Spent about 3.5 hours even without doing those activities.Written 5 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ElvisAndrusArlington, TX805 contributionsI gave a five star review for the nationality rooms which are in this building so decided to this too, hoping to lead anyone away from the reality that one is in the other. The grand study hall is a delight and I could live there. But there was very little else on what one could do there other than take a tour of the international rooms. Signage for visitors was not easy to find. So, five stars for what it is rather than for how it presents itself.Written 1 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
