What travellers are saying
- Kamal PByron Bay, Australia3,504 contributionsThe view from the Point Lonsdale was awesome. More than 180-degree view encompassed the Point Nepean on the opposite side in Mornington peninsula. The Rip at the bay entrance aroused our excitement. The pier added to the picture was perfect for a photo shot and seemed to be very popular among anglers. Entire shoreline was absolutely beautiful to gaze at.Written 9 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TWal1Canberra, Australia2,926 contributionsThe front beach is an ideal place for young families with clean sand and calmer waters. Great views across the heads and the treacherous currents with the Rip. A great place to watch ships and boats navigate their way through the channel. The back beach is better suited for surfers and strong swimmers. It is much more expansive but you need to take care.Written 27 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kamal PByron Bay, Australia3,504 contributionsLighthouses where ever they are, attract interests for their individual unique characters and the history behind them. Point Lonsdale lighthouse too stands out with an octagon shaped base which may not be a common shape. Its green canopy uniquely blends with the environment. Lighthouse precinct was a grand lookout to get a good view of almost 270 degrees of water consisting of the sea and the bay with some inlets, the balance was the landside neighbourhood.Written 9 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kamal PByron Bay, Australia3,504 contributionsPoint Lonsdale pier was quite a long structure which appeared to be very popular with anglers. There were many who were with rods, some successful with catch. Walk on the pier was the most thrilling with the swollen waves rolling on to it like it was going to sweep everyone of us to the sea. It was the best location to experience the RIP and its treacherous waters.Written 9 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joy CWarragul, Australia515 contributionsA picturesque setting for a gallery. Well worth a visit. There was a good showcase of art and it is well displayed. There were also prints and cards available for purchase. Well worth climbing the stairs to visit.Written 4 February 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- John AVictoria, Australia220 contributionsShould have believed the reviews. Very ordinary meals, over priced for the stale, cooked to death and bland offerings we ordered and unfortunately consumed. Service on the other hand was great. Wine a little overpriced and selection slightly expensive for a bistro. Seemed to lack a choice of reasonable quality affordable wines. Views, venue etc good. A very little effort in presenting a fresh menu would see this place become very popular.Written 9 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
