What travellers are saying
- Katie MNorthbrook, IL25 contributionsThis place is so amazing. Frank Jr is a fantastic narrator of the universe. I can tell he’s honed his craft over the years. You have to call/text to make reservations and he only has a few shows a week, but it’s so worth the effort. He’s put his heart and soul into this planetarium an entertaining/educating families.Written 3 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AndrewFromMadisonMadison, WI3,413 contributionsIn my title, I called this place a "museum village". What I mean is where there are several buildings involved - some authentic old structures, and some modern ones containing exhibits, plus some outdoor expositions and objects. This historical park contains an old depot and associated railroad buildings and rolling stock (like a Pede car, Caboose and a train). There is also a logging museum and a steam tractor. Also, there is an Antique Outboard & Boating museum, plus a garage with old firetrucks and some other vehicles, a CCC Museum, a One-Room School and more.Written 16 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Eisme77Janesville, WI1,605 contributionsThis place is a step back into history with a modern twist for the current beer market. We met friends here who live nearby and were able to have a nice visit with the employees who knew about the brewing legend as well as modern day brews to appeal to everyone. I enjoyed the Chocolate Bunny Stout, and my husband had the Chocolate Imperial Stout. Tucked into downtown Rhinelander, it is definitely a cool stop, not just for the beer, but for the history of the brand.Written 4 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - southbisonRhinelander, WI43 contributionsEasy to find once you found it. If you are into college football sport history this is a place where you can say: you have been there. Nothing exciting and just a plaque with his name and date on it. Enter at West entrance of Forest Home Cemetery, (two rock pillars on either side of the entrance), corner of Coon and Maine Street.. Turn east/left on 1st avenue (in the cemetery). Up 2/3rd of the block,( block 3), and then in 50 feet. Look for the large gray Donaldson stone. This is his wifes family plot. His plaque is on the ground just to the side of the stoneWritten 13 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ellie RRhinelander, WI25 contributionsRomantic wedding anniversary carriage ride to Three Coins. The new ownership clearly cares for their animals and customers. We had a scenic ride through the historic Holiday Acres property before dinner and the carriage was waiting for us when we finished our lovely meal. The drivers were incredible and knew so much of the history of the area. Our horse, Liz, was so sweet! I can’t wait to do this again in the fall colors!Written 23 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
