What travellers are saying
- cannonaterSalt Lake City, UT1,563 contributionsBut this walk transports you back in time. The history behind everything you’ve grown up with is fascinating. Would highly recommend getting a guide.. It’s worth $15.00.. October 2018Written 16 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Barry SGreater London, UK11 contributionsSo poignant and utterly sad, reading the truthful words of those horrifically impacted by the murderous Nazis.
The respect shown by the City of Boston, is evident and the arrangment of this memorial, was quite unique and yet, so hard-hitting.
So worthy of seeing and to read the comments.Written 30 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The food is in Quincy but the souvenirs are all here. Definitely check it out. It’s a fun historic place.Written 1 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- James AWindsor, Canada18,742 contributionsQuincey Market is heaps of fun. It’s a bit on the chaotic side during every visit but the place is great. Food is good and expensive but portions are just for the prices. It’s a historic place and you’re going to have fun so just go there.Written 1 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Several of the important American figures of the Revolutionary War are buried here, with placards & markers to summarize their contributions of that era. This is on the Freedom Trail, so you'll be seeing more of these figures at other nearby historic sites. The Granary Burial Grounds is a nice way to see how many of them ended up.Written 8 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Shaolin KatariaPittsburgh, PA3 contributionsThe tour inside the Old State House is mostly self-guided and there are relevant artifacts from the time to complement the information boards, just like any other museum.
The catch was the tour guide Ed who did a 20 min talk on the history of the building and shared some really interesting nuggets with us. We all got to sit on the big table during the talk and had a picture taken.Written 7 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - historylover3Somerville, MA150 contributionsThis is one of my absolute favorite historic churches in Boston. It is truly exquisite. In addition to being a wonderful historic site, I also recommend it for anyone interested in attending Christian religious services. King's Chapel is Christian Unitarian, so it is grounded in Christianity coupled with a very welcoming and open-minded approach to people and issues in the world. The Sunday 11 a.m. service has beautiful music, the liturgy retains much of the older language and power of earlier times, with sermons that are often profound yet totally relatable for anyone today. Best of all worlds, IMHO.Written 3 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- RumzzzIrving, TX83 contributionsMy family and I were in Boston on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, when understandably most attractions are closed down. We went to the custom house on the 25th, and were told the observation deck was closed. However, within minutes (after I explained we were there only for the day), the Christmas spirit kicked in and we were given an exclusive trip to the deck. Just made our day!
The deck itself is a beautiful and must-do event for anyone that’s joys panoramic views. There are wrought iron tables and chairs strewn around for tired feet, and iron grills to prevent accidents. Go for it!Written 6 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This was a hotbed of Patriot activity and the planning place for the Boston Tea Party. Inside they have exhibits on how the Meeting House evolved over the years and the campaign to save it.Written 18 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jaskel08California249 contributionsIt’s basically a marker. It’s also really historic since it really was the precipice for the Revolutionary War. Having been on the Freedom Trail, our guide explained to was the significance, how and where specifically it went down. Without being on a guided tour, it’s basically a plaque and would be hard to appreciate and understand.Written 3 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BrakiWorldTravelerBelgrade, Serbia17,760 contributionsThis English style Church stands right in Boston center, across the Boston Common park. It dates back to early 19 c.
During our three days in Boston we passed it every day and it was always closed, so we could only see the exterior and the next door Granary graveyard which is the final resting place for great figures of the American revolution.Written 15 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
