What travellers are saying
- Al3x01234Manchester, UK207 contributionsLovely restaurant. Found by accident as my friend was taking to a restaurant nearby which had closed down. Anyway, turned out for the better.
Very friendly happy staff in a restaurant really centrally located in Manhattan just off times sq. However, they have not gone down the route of serving any old rubbish as they know tourists will pass by and go in.
The atmosphere is great, I love these type of bar / restauranrts.Written 10 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Bluff City TravelerMemphis, TN15 contributionsWOW!
This place is just tooooo much fun! I haven’t been here in … well… lets say, a LONG time but it was just as much fun as I recall back in the day.
The sing-a-longs were riotously fun with very talented singers/pianists and Mede each guest laugh all night as we enjoyed cold adult beverages and sang right along!
If you want this fun time, by all means beat a path to the Duplex in The Village!Written 7 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The perfect vibe for parties with friends, team building with your colleagues, intimate date nights or even a solo karaoke date with yourself! 11/10 would recommend checking out this absolute iconic spot. Get ready to belt your heart out to a live pianist! The staff is incredible & the drinks hit just right. Can’t wait to come back soon for more fun!Written 13 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Allan SNew York City, NY6,265 contributionsThis place has been here for. a long time and attracts a very diverse crowd interested in music , drink bling and talk. Located in mid block it offers a nice alternative spot for everyone to enjoy some good live music and some drinks.Written 28 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - John D36 contributionsWe love to go here before we see a Broadway show. It's sort of a tradition. It's not a very elegant place, but the Russian food is authentic and delicious. We dream about the pork and veal dumplings for months before we go there, and they are always hot and delicious.
It's a fun place to go if you just want good food, great vodka, and a fun experience that feels like it is still the 1950s.Written 3 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Bravo. The master of ceremonies really knew how to draw out the audience; so anyone who wasn't clapping, singing, or laughing along only has themselves to blame. I'd always heard that dueling piano bars were a hoot, and I'm glad I've finally knocked this off my bucket list.Written 13 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JimboMalibu_CAMalibu, CA344 contributionsWe had heard the Monkey Bar had been refurbished. We enjoyed cocktails and a lovely 3 course dinner in 1940s vintage Manhattan. Excellent food, drink, and service. Great murals on the walls capture glimpses of its storied history. Enjoy!Written 30 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- operalover939Toronto, Canada2,651 contributionsWe were drawn to the Balcony Bar by the sound of a string quartet. Having managed to secure a table, we had a pre-dinner snack while listing to the ETHEL quartet. This is a delightful experience available in the early evening on Fridays and Saturdays. Prices are on the high side, but if you like the music — contemporary classical yesterday (Saturday) — you will emphatically not mind paying. This is an urban oasis!Written 18 February 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tina m6 contributionsWe were looking for another place when we came across this awesome piano bar. It is quaint. We had an amazing time. The wait staff sing and serve. Everyone that sang had amazing voices and they were very personable as well. We went 2 nights of our 3 night stay in NYC. If you go, I hope your experience is just as awesome! :)Written 16 December 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
