So much fun! I really wanted to go to the 11:30 show but was a bit hesitant going solo as a female tourist. The surrounding area is bright and lively at 11:30 and everyone at the Cellar was so friendly. They put me by other people flying solo so it was nice to have others to chat with while seated before the show. So happy I came to this historic spot, I had a really great time.

Great NYC comedy club located in Chelsea. Went to one of the Gotham All-Star nights. Although, I didn't recognize any of the names of the comics who performed, all were great and provided many laughs. Small room without a bad seat in the house. However, don't sit along the stage unless you don't mind being picked on by the comics. $28 plus 2 drink minimum per person for a 90-minute show. There are usually 2-3 shows per night. I was able to book a table for 4 just a week before the show which was convenient unlike Comedy Cellar that was completely booked out well in advance.

IRTE IS BACK AT THE PRODUCER’S CLUB!! You can see a Broadway show for $150 or more per person -- or you can visit this off, off Broadway venue (right in the heart of the theatre district!) and get an evening full of entertainment for only $20-25 bucks! The Producer’s Club is one of the best kept secrets in New York City – only it’s not a secret to veteran theatre folk, those developing new acts and plays, or those who use one of its small, comfortable theatres as a showcase spot. An iconic spot in midtown Manhattan, at 358 West 44th Street, New York, NY 10036, it’s where you can see repertory troupes, such as IRTE: the Improvisational Repertory Theatre Ensemble and their season of hilarious, improvised shows, each themed and cast with seriously funny folk who can bring you a load of entertainment and laughs for a small fraction of what other NYC shows cost. The Club has several different small theatres and most importantly, a well-stocked bar! Patrons are also permitted to bring their drinks from the bar into the individual theatres. The only drawback of The Producer’s Club is that it is not wheelchair accessible. But enter on 44th Street, right off Ninth Avenue, where you are also in the thick of theatre district restaurants for dinner or snacks before or after a show. The new IRTE show of the 2023 Fall season is “My Thanksgiving Recipe,” and original Concept by Nannette Deasy and Directed by Robert Baumgardner, starring Evie Aronson, , Nannette Deasy, Natalie Hunter, Sam Katz, Bridget Knapp, and Connie Perry. Featuring live music by John Munnelly. THIS FULLY IMPROVISED SHOW will run Fridays & Saturdays, November 10, 11, 17 & 18, December 1, 2, 8 & 9, 2023, and runs from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tickets $20 Online or $25 Cash Only at the Door. Season Passes and Group Discounts Available. Google IRTE for tickets and more information. Parental discretion is advised as “improv” can be … well …spontaneous!

We took our teens (17 & 19) with us to see ASSSSCAT 3000. The show can get racy at times, but nothing they haven’t heard in an R-rated movie. We enjoyed the improv comedy, both for the laughs and because it was interesting to see how the comedians work through it. The price for tickets is right. They serve alcoholic drinks for a fair price. The neighborhood isn’t great.

I had no idea the Stand had a full basement with a giant comedy venue! I had been twice before to the “Upstairs” which is very small and intimate, and would highly recommend the Basement!

I loved how it’s not as crowded as the Comedy Cellar. The food was pretty good, fries were great and ricotta was pretty average. My husband agreed his fried chicken was just ok.

Comedy was pretty good, was chuckling the whole time and didn’t really have any dud comedians but also wasn’t LOLing the whole night. The crowd seemed to agree with me and was pretty conservative with the laughs.

Would certainly return, but Comedy Cellar is still king in my book.

Booked this following great reviews. It was excellent in terms of comedy and more acts than I expected (6 in total). Drinks service was good although I think the enforced two drink per person minimum was a bit outdated to say the least. The queuing system outside could be a lot better it was unclear and a bit adversarial to get in especially if you arrive a bit early, basically being told to go away and then queue up but once you are in it was great. Well worth it.

Huge shout out to the comics who performed the night I got to go. They were truly phenomenal. I've been to several comedy clubs, and most are worth a chuckle or two, but this place had us in stitches. I can't credit the mandatory booze you must purchase, either, since none of us could even taste the alcohol. So, 5000 stars for the entertainment; 0 stars for the horrible overpriced (non)alcoholic drinks.

I heard about this place and dropped by to see the Improv Jam which was like open mic night for improv people. I had a couple beers at the bar and enjoyed talking with Randy who was very sharp and was able to explain a lot about the Improv process. The Jam itself was just people working from a word given by an audience member. There were slow periods but there were some really funny moments and I enjoyed seeing people work at it. It was a very casual supportive environment and I had a good time.

Our first time here but a great one. Front of house staff are helpful and friendly. We went on a “new talent” night and saw somewhere between 10 and 15 comedians, each of whom had about 10-15 minutes each. They were hit or miss but overall, we had a great time seeing new talent.

The show was fantastic! I had so much fun there. The comedians were all lovely, each one made me laugh, and some of them made me laugh really hard. However, the 18 gratuity on top of 25 entrance fee for a Tuesday night seems a bit excessive in comparison to the competition. Also, waitress going around interrupts the show, particularly when you have to pay as an act is on.

I happened to be in Brooklyn and I was looking for something entertaining to do.. I came across this hidden gem. I paid for the 830pm show and stayed for the 10 pm as well. I’ve never heard of this place so I figured there would be up and coming comedians trying new material. I wasn’t expecting to do a lot of laughing but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s small, quaint and intimate and it adds to the charm of this place. Also, I was definitely taken aback when Jordan Rock stopped in to try some new material. He was hilarious! They have a wine/beer/hard seltzer menu with popcorn and snacks(including twizzlers. My favorite). I would definitely recommend the tiny cupboard for a nice date night or a group hang. P.s. the staff are chill and friendly.

If y’all know of anyone who will be in NYC on May 23rd, a kid-friendly superhero musical web series will be screening with live vocals while the film is running! . They have won awards/nominations at film/web festivals: Orlando Film Festival and #stareable web fest.

An absolutely DELIGHTFUL evening. I went with a group of friends and for the ticket price I was expecting to politely smile through some cringey acts but Lemonade had me in TEARS from laughing so hard. I even went back for a second show on my own! The show always brings a good variety of acts and the hosts do a hilarious job of keeping the audience engaged. They know how to work a room!

I took my daughter (14) here last week on our trip to New York. It was a bonus that the show was free on the night we had available (would happily have paid) as it was an "Unripe Bananas" show where the comedians were trying out new jokes. We had a great time - poor child became the subject of a few jokes, but she loved it really and won't ever forget it! It was a really great experience and something different to do on our week-long trip. The cocktails looked lovely and the food (we ate in the adjoining restaurant upstairs before the show but it is also served downstairs in the club) was great.

Best place to be in the city! NY is the Mecca for standup comedy and the best place to see comedy in NY is New York Comedy club.

I brought my husband and our 5 children to the club we got great seats and received excellent service. The comediennes were so FUNNY. I’m a Christian but their dirty material was too funny to care.

The popcorn was delightful. I enjoyed a margarita maybe by a charming little server. I don’t remember his name but he seemed delightful. I would come back just for him. Except actually not cause that’s Ridiculous. He was nice though.

This place doesn’t serve food but I was satisfied and fulfilled by the bonhomme I felt from the laughs and love of the club. 5 stars! 5 stars 5 stars! I’d bring my kids back again. If little Bobby has to pass the 6th grade. I hope he does, he’s been struggling in social studies more than a raccoon on roller skates.
