- Thomas VOakland, CA13,455 contributionsIt's a crossroads where the Lower East Side hits the East Village. Some good architecture around here, but this actual square is a big open and cold. Subway stop.Written 24 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- bbbob84Staten Island, NY1,654 contributionsThese Greek Revival Row Houses known as Colonnade Row or LeGrange were some of the first buildings to receive landmark status in NYC. Owned once by the Astor family they are remnants of a time when NOHO was where people of wealth and means resided in NYC before moving further North. They were near the site of Vauxhall Gardens and the Amusement Park. They facades were currently under restoration when we visited. Hopefully back to their original architectural glory. You can see these from the outside only as the interiors have all been remodeled. Located at 428, 430, 432 and 434 Lafayette Street.Written 27 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- bbbob84Staten Island, NY1,654 contributionsAt some point in time firehouses were designed by architects and were attractive. This firehouse completed in 1898 built in the Beaus Arts style was landmarked in 1968. I have a picture that I will attach later as I am not being given access by TA at the moment. A beautiful classic big, bold and colorful firehouse in NOHO NYC.Written 27 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - bbbob84Staten Island, NY1,654 contributionsThe Schermerhorn Building at 376 - 380 Lafayette Street was designed by Henry Hardenbergh who is famous for designing the Plaza Hotel and The Dakota. Constructed of Brownstone, Sandstone, Terra Cotta and Wood the building has Dwarf Columns made of Marble. Landmarked in 1966 it is another great Architectural masterpiece that is sometime overlooked in NOHO.Written 27 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
