We came for the Tiffany lamps, and there was so much more of interest. I enjoyed the upside-down doll most of the additional exhibits. The two films were very well done and held our interest.
Unfortunately, while my excitement was high, the Audubon exhibit was very small. I had been in Key West in January and the Audubon House there had much more. Plus, I used to live one-mile from the tiny Heard Museum in Fairview, TX, and their exhibit is the best I have ever seen of Audubon's work.
Storico, the museum restaurant here, was decently-priced good food, too.

The museum has an amazing collection of firefighting history and memorabilia. They do a great job of letting you just enjoy the exhibits at your pace and not a fast pace tour by everything. The staff was friendly and helpful and I enjoyed the museum.

We visited during a school vacation, late in a bad-weather week, but from the other reviews I suspect it's always this crowded.
The 1- and 2-year-olds we visited with were happy to run around, only briefly engaging with an activity, but could have spent hours here.
You will need 1:1 supervision of smaller kids because there is so much which they'll find appealing. Strollers must be left in the checkroom, so don't expect to park the littler children in their stroller while the older ones explore.
It's expensive, as much for children over 1 year as for adults.

Cool quick stop while exploring the city! Easy to get in and out of. The staff was very helpful. Erin did a great job as well.

The children's museum is a very nice place.
Gives the children a clever point of view about the arts.

I have 3 boys (ages 13, 10 and 7) and they all really liked this place. We were there for about an hour and a half. They had a lot of fun and with each ticket, you get to make a container of your own slime (choose the type, color, scent and 3 charms) for free. We watched the ultimate experience where people get slime dumped on them. I personally wouldn't do it. It's pretty much colored water dumped on you for a few seconds. Not worth the extra $ in my opinion. For a family of 5, this was expensive but thankfully they all loved it, which made it worth it. Is it small? Yes although from all the reviews saying how tiny it was, it was bigger than I expected. It was busy but not too crowded. Very manageable. We made a reservation online.

My 11-year-old son and I recently met a girlfriend and her 6-year-old daughter here and I was very happy that the museum held both of the children's attention for several hours. Although small, t has very cool interactive exhibits.
