We spent all afternoon on a Tuesday in May looking around this museum. We only bought the general entry and didn't pre book, and had no problem getting in, without queuing. Really interesting walking around the aircraft carrier, and there were some retired sailors who were really interesting to talk to. We also went round the submarine and could walk round a space shuttle. Awesome! We must have easily spent 3 hours there.

The SPY HQ museum & experience is an excellent overview of spy craft and major spying incidents in the US. I've been to other spy museums in the past (such as the International Spy Museum in Washington, DC) that go into the history & technology of spy craft in more detail. SpyScape concentrates instead on a more interactive learning experience, with lots of computer kiosks for you to learn more major aspects of the craft. Children may find this more interesting than the usual display cases.

Another interesting aspect of this museum is the personality profile you gradually fill out by using a supplied wristband to log into computer terminals spread throughout the main floor. Even you are not intending to work for a spy agency, these types of intelligence and spatial awareness quizzes you fill out gives you an idea of what to expect with many contemporary job interviews. It was interesting to see what the computer tests leads the museum to conclude what type of intelligence officer you'd make.

Excellent museum, great way to get close to some classic war planes and helicopters too. Added bonus of seeing the shuttle and the USS Growler nuclear submarine too. Made for a fun afternoon. The tickets gave us general access to all the above but you have to buy add-onto access things like the Concorde experience, 3D theaters, etc. probably about 10 different add-ons you can select from so it could be an expensive day if you want the full ride. We were happy with just the general admission. Nice little cafeteria if you need a bite to eat and a great gift shop too.
