My husband and I took a short line bus from Ithaca to Binghamton on 29th July, 2019. The bus was scheduled to start at 9.05 am, but there was no sign of a bus till 9.45. Passengers kept calling them, and the ruse customer service guy kept saying that he reached the driver and the driver’s said that he’ll be there soon. There was no sign of the bus for another 20 minutes or so. And when we called the customer care guy, he said the same and when we said that he told another passenger the same thing, but the driver hasn’t showed up yet, the customer care guy said that nobody called them before, which was not true because we all were there when this other lady made the phone call. When the driver finally showed up, (he didn’t even apologize to the passengers), someone asked why the bus was late and he said that it was his personal failure. I’m pretty sure that the company waits for the passengers to call them (specially in the summer) and see if they have enough passengers to run the bus. Because the ticket we got had no date on which we could take the bus or a seat assignment. It was valid for 3 months during which we were allowed to use it. I was so disappointed, and would never take a short line bus again. Nor do I recommend it to someone looking for a decent travel experience.
