As the other reviews state it’s an excellent free choice to get a great view and pics of the Statue of Liberty, NYC skyline, Verrazano bridge and governors island. When u board in Manhattan move to the right hand side for the views. It gets crowded here so get in quick. We spent a half a day in Staten Island at the outlet shops. If u need to shop they have great stores just a few meters walk from the exit point in Staten Island and places to eat. It was a nice quiet break from NYC noise.

We used this ferry to get from Brooklyn over to Wall Street. The tickets are easy to purchase from the little ticket machines right near the pier. You can use cash or card tickets cost $2,75 per person which is good value.

The queuing system is a little confusing although a local helped us with which queue we needed to be in, but there were still plenty of other people in the wrong queue and they ended up flooding over once they realised. The boat drops you off at “Wall Street pier 11” Wall Street is a short walk away.

The boat was very clean and well kept and it was a quick service only taking a few minutes to get back over to downtown Manhattan.

My son had a day off from school so I took the day off from work and got us tickets to the Intrepid so he wasn't home all day staring at a screen. I never take the ferry across the river because the train or the tunnel (if driving) are much more convenient and cheaper. The downtown stop is a better stop closer to the action but the midtown stop is only good if you are going to Javitz or the Intrepid.

The cost is too much, the journey is on a less frequent schedule than the train and the parking at Port Imperial is also too much.

So yeah, if this is your first time or if you are a local showing someone the city, this is a nice journey. If you want in and out quickly, take a train.

I am not sure if we got scammed because it was the weekend or if this is legit Monday - Friday! But we bought tickets on Saturday and the whole place was shut up!

The ticket men did a good job at selling them to us and convinced us it was too foggy to see the Statue of Liberty on the free staton island ferry!

They shipped us off on a ferry ( a group of 20) and dumped us in New Jersey! The shuttle bus sped off as quick as he could. We had to get an Uber back!

DO NOT BUY TICKETS FOR THIS BOAT!

New York Cruise terminal is near to the Intrepid War ship museum. The terminal is pretty gritty and not worth a visit. Avoid.

Very good way to see Liberty Island & Ellis Island without getting off the boat. Very quick service & cheap, plus it has a bar
