    Museum
This museum demonstrates impressive history of Alaska and the native people who have lived there. The sign when you park suggests that you should allow 4 hours. We shrugged that off and payed for 1.5 hours but returned to pay for more. There is a lot see!

I cannot imagine a better way to spend an afternoon for a visitor to Alaska and/or an animal lover. We had an extraordinary experience walking with, petting and soaking in the experience of a herd of reindeer. We were there for the first outing with the babies and they were SO cute! I learned so much about reindeer from the owner as well as the excellent young staff members. Overall it was an experience I will always cherish.

This is a definite “must visit!” Beautifully restored automobiles from the turn of the last century. They’ve paired this with exhibits of women’s fashions from the corresponding periods. We loved talking with the docent Willy and saw his passion for these cars.

From the moment you walk through the doors you can see the great effort made to provide a place of awareness about the people of Alaska. The dioramas were very informative and beautifully displayed and tell their story. What a beautiful, peaceful place.

You can see the pipeline in many places in the area but they have a display with some basic pipeline facts here.

There was a lot to see, but a lot was closed. There are cabins and small homes that have been preserved some of which are open to go inside. Then there are a few shops, restaurants, and museums plus a playground, train, and steamship. The river walk is close by , and a place to rent kayaks and boats. If everything is open you could spend a day easily. I spent about 2 hours exploring. The Kitty Hensley house was exceptional as well as the Pioneer Museum. The Alaska Salmon Bake is open seasonally. I missed it because I was unaware of it being seasonal, but I've heard it's a must.

We rode the McKinley Explorer from Denali National Park to Anchorage. It was an incredible and very enjoyable trip. The train features two story domed cars, which offer a great view of the incredible Alaskan scenery. We were able to see Denali from the train, as well as beautiful rivers, mountains, and ravines. The food on board was excellent, as was the service.

Used this road on Northern Alaska Company's Artic Circle and Aurora Viewing tour. Awesome road through the interior of the 49th state. Snow-covered hills and valleys that stretch for miles on either side. Great views.

Not as many ice sculptures as I expected - but the drink (apple-tini) at the Ice Bar is not to be missed!

Beautiful wide open field. We went there in the winter and it was filled with thick snow. Still a nice area to walk and view the Northern light. We stayed at the Wedgwood and that was only a few minites walk to the field.

Check out the herds near the University. Wasn't able to get into a tour but did check out the animals in the morning during feeding. Beautiful facilities. Fun to see!

It won't take you long to see it all; but what's there is a lot of fun and they have jackets so you can be in a t-shirt and still check it out (Mostly we did the ice-slide over and over. : )

We take all our visitors here to see the arch and to take some cool photos! It’s easy to find and it’s just a few steps from the parking lot which made this an easy access point for my Father in law who required use of a wheelchair. It is unfortunate to see the way people vandalize it once you’re up close but the overall experience of seeing the arch made of all the shed antlers is still incredible! Even if you’re short on time, make a quick pit stop here to see the arch and grab a photo!

Had a VRBO rental on the shores of this waterway. Saw dog sleds, people and snowmobiles. No wildlife. But also, no city lights. Beautiful view of the mountains.
