- Surya KatakamHyderabad, India2,250 contributionsThough there are multiple Wax Museums in Lonavala, people attracts towards Sunil Wax Museum. This is what made me curious to think about me to check more about Sunil wax museum background. Whatever information i could able to gather I have given below if you are interested you can go through the same.
If you are reading this review only to know about Sunil's wax museum, no doubt you can visit but only drawback is maintenance is very poor. There are more than 100 statues at Lonavala Wax Museum. The best I personally felt is Thakare' s Statue. It seems to be real one and so nicely made. some of the statue's are not so realistic.
History about Sunil's Wax museum:
Sunil's full name is Sunil Kandallor who born in a small village of Alappuzha district of Kerala. He has two brothers Sujith and Subash who are also part of this venture. The first full scale was statue that Sunil made was that of the former Kerala Chief minister Karunakaran and the second one was that of E.K. Narayanar who is also another former chief minister of Kerala. Sunil's Wax Museum venture started on 08th January 2010. Devgad and Thiruvanthapuram Museum's are opened in the year 2017.
Sunil's Wax Museum is spread across three cities in India out of which this Lonavala Wax Museum more popular. The Second one is at Devgad, Maharashtra State. The third one is latest one which is opened recently in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala State. Surprise news is he also obtained permission to start 4th one inside the Statue of Unity which is world largest statue. There were two Museums one at Kanyakumari and one at Kochi, but both were shutdown over time. I had visited Kanyakumari museum few years back.
