What travellers are saying
- Rogene S3 contributionsWhat a gem in Independence! This is a very interesting historical tour of a beautiful estate. Madeline, our tour guide, was the best. Her fact filled tour gave us insight into the history of Independence, the Bingham and Waggoner families, and Missouri in general. We learned a lot and sparked further interest to learn more about the impact of the civil war on Missouri and Kansas families.Written 17 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lori KSaint Louis, MO2,290 contributionsWe went to the visitor center first, got our book stamped and bought a sticker. Watched the movie. All about his personal life, which I enjoyed. Husband said it was just ok. Unfortunately we didn't get tickets for the house because they only let 8 people in at a time (understandable) and we didn't have an hour and half to wait around. We did go see the house on the outsideWritten 21 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- mjwbnwMishawaka, IN63 contributionsTour guides were very informative about the interesting history of this house. It's worth your while to learn about how this house survived and to view all the objects it contains.Written 31 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - esprouls47Wadesville, IN293 contributionsThis is a small but well laid out museum that covers the major pioneer trails— Oregon, Santa Fe, Mormon and the Lewis and Clark Expedition. There is a good video to start. Then areas with exhibits and pioneer diaries describing their trek. There is no charge. A gift shop is at the end of the museum.Written 18 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Amie LLiberty, MO12 contributionsThis is all you would expect from a small town square. It's got history. And it's got some hipster vibes here and there. A few hidden gems to discover.Written 16 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- KristenHAuburn, KS5 contributionsThis is a smaller arena, but it's really nice! We enjoyed our visit! So thankful they had Toby Mac & Diverse City in and had hotels and restaurants close by!Written 11 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - IowaTravellinGuyAnkeny, IA324 contributionsKids loved the park which was perfect for both the 3 and 6 year old. Beautiful area. The waterfall is a bit a way (1/4 mile?). You can drive there but no stopping point. They have closed the road on one side, so the road is now one way but now should be able to hike or bike to itWritten 17 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lady Susan W3 contributionsThe librarians were incredibly helpful. I wish I could have stayed longer but I was just visiting for 3 days total. - Alicia MMonticello, MN125 contributionsWe ended up on a tour. The guide was very informative. It is small but interesting. As a side note there is a man who does a historic wagon tour right outside the building and he has a few different options there was a lady who was going on it for the 90 minute tour so we did that. He was very informative and interactive. So when you’re at the jail if he is there check it out. It is his way of living and knows his history.Written 23 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Robby G CToronto, Canada81,611 contributionsI liked the Fleming Park.
There were many Palm trees.
There are also a lot of sits here. People can do listening with comedies or listening music and more.
