Plenty to do here for young and old, can be pricey for entry but most rides inside free after entry cost paid. Food is typical of a fun park, unhealthy mostly and not cheap. Some cosmetic work done since our last visit.

This entire property is magnificent and is a must for residents of NZ and visitors alike. There are fabulous water features and ponds; commanding views to distant places including Rangitoto and wonderful spots to sit throughout the garden to see a variety of views some intimate while others will take you much further a field. You will experience different plants in bloom depending on the time of the year you visit. Huge variety of trees some huge; some mass planting and all of them stunning to behold. At the wetlands, which is mainly native plants you’ll encounter many lovely birds. Leave an hour and a half extra to experience a full excursion around the wetlands. The entire property is the most wonderful gift to NZ. Congratulations to the family responsible and to those who keep the dream alive.

Quite a nice farm away from the city. They have a nice range of animals and it is free to walk around the area to look at them. The carpark is decently sized and there is an information shed by the road. The farm does cover a large area so you are able to walk around to enjoy the countryside. They do have a shearing and milking shed so there are probably timed shows for them. There is also a campground nearby.
It was a nice place to walk around with kids since the large numbers and variety of animals are quite interesting. The older ones can also be taken to the longer walks around the area.

We found Gravity a great winter outing for our group of five kids aged 5-8. It was clean and the staff were helpful and interacted well with the children. Would recommend.

After walking around the Mangere Town Centre, we saw this interesting building across the parking lot from McDonalds and decided to investigate. The building turned out to be the Mangere Arts Centre. We went inside and saw that there was a café just to the left of the entrance. We were a little chilly from the winter temperatures outside and decided to get a cup of coffee. There were also some meat pies and pastries and we got some of those. The meat pie was ok but the cinnamon roll type pastry that I had was delicious and with my flat white on the side, perfect winter weather treat. The café was clean and a nice open space. It was not crowded at this time in the afternoon and we found a table right away after ordering at the counter.

What I remember most is the nice young Maori lady that was the cashier, she was very friendly and when we asked her is there any good restaurant around to get dinner, she made a frown and shook her head no. We were like, well thanks, that is all we need to know, and walk away chuckling to ourselves.

We decided to go to Westfield mall and catch a movie instead so we did not explore the Arts Centre more, but we did enjoy our experience at the café there. A rest with a cup of coffee is nice anywhere.

From the pictorial menu, I chose roast duck on steamed rice as the meat looked juicy with a crispy skin and a delicious looking thick sauce over the top. What I got was half bone, thin tough skin, vile tasting meat with a runny nasty flavoured sauce. The meat, if you can call it that was mostly fat. Even the rice has bits of bone in it. It was the most disgusting “meal” I’ve ever had and it went in the bin.

The Square just outside the Mall is an ideal location at which to take a breather and to evaluate one's situation. We had a 'Rest and Recreation 'stop here after the frenetic running around at Rainbow's End.

Hayman Park has recently been upgraded with a new playground area as well as a skate park.
There is a small carpark off Lambie Drive which is towards the ponds. It is also quite close to the Manukau Train Station, bus station and Westfield shopping center. Just note that the carpark is on the other side from the shopping center and the Playground.
It was quite a nice place to walk around with the pond and greenery. The playground is on the mall side of the park and is quite new. The large structure is visible from afar and is quite fun to play in. There are also a few playing areas beside the structure like a flying fox and swings. The skate park is nearby and there are a few basketball courts around here too.
It is a nice place to hang out outside.
