What travellers are saying
- Kimberly TCentral Virginia31 contributionsWhat a fun trip! The caverns are really cool and I took some amazing pictures. The tour is self guided and took about an hour and half. It could be shorter or longer depending how crowded it is and how often you stop to take pictures. The admission fee also includes several museums connected to the caverns. Also there is a garden maze, ropes course, gem mining. gift shop, and restaurant. It's a one stop shop for a full day of adventures!Written 29 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ND HMinneapolis, MN28 contributionsWe did this hike in September 2022 and it was amazing! Beautiful scenery on the way to the top. Moderate difficulty in places. Very windy at the top so stay away from the edge. View at the top is stunning. It was our favorite hike on our trip to Shenandoah National Park!Written 6 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tania M74 contributionsWay beyond our expectations! This museum is loaded with rare and amazing vehicles. Great information on each too. - Cat PHarrisonburg, VA32 contributionsJust want to let everyone know before you go that the trail is open from dawn to dusk. Went there yesterday to try and view the northern lights from there and there's a sign on the tree that told us that.Written 24 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MTB-IllinoisIllinois228 contributionsWe did not know there was a Cooters when we journeyed back from our trip to Skyline Drive and the Luray Caverns. As a child from the Dukes of Hazard era, we had to stop!Written 11 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GAMDtravel1224Augusta, GA18 contributionsStarted our weekend in Luray with a stop here at River Hill. So glad we did! We felt like family, greeted and welcomed warmly. If you aren’t into fruit wines, don’t come for the wine, but it was delicious! We bought a bottle of the strawberry to go; it made a great dessert later in the weekend. The whiskey, bourbon, and more (!) were wonderful, and this coming from someone who normally doesn’t like hard liquor. Thanks, Fred, for convincing me the good stuff doesn’t have to burn! :)Written 22 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Linda BBel Air, MD16 contributionsJust enjoyed our second visit to the Warehouse Art Gallery which is an awesome combination of sight and sound! If you have ANY interest at all in any of the Arts, do yourself a favor and visit this wonderful Gallery! There is no charge to get in and browse around but there is a jar for donation at the door. PLEASE throw some money in when you exit so this Gallery can keep going. It's a VERY cool place!Written 1 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Maltipoo16New York999 contributionsThe park was absolutely beautiful and very drivable! It’s not super dog friendly, but they are allowed on some trails, campgrounds, and visitor centers. The park offered a lot of scenic turnoffs where you can park for a bit while driving from place to place. The restaurants do not stay open in between lunch and dinner so do plan to eat at the lunch or dinner hours if you want the restaurants. The visitor centers were very exquisite and nice with small museums, excellent gift shops, and friendly park Rangers. Definitely a top tier park!!!Written 9 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Agnes WDundee, NY81 contributionsMy husband and I were very pleased with how beautiful this walk was. Easy paved walkway, large enough to easily pass other walkers. Loved that the you follow the creek the whole way. Saw fisherman pull some nice size trout out too! There are even cows in the loop area! Plenty of places to use restrooms/clean porta potties. Approx. 3 miles if you start at either end and walk the entire paved area, however there are plenty of parking areas to choose from. We had planned to bike it however we noticed only walkers so we decided to just enjoy the walk too.Written 15 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kevin WAltoona, AL234 contributionsFirst...it's not the big city zoo's....and to me that is fine. Most of these animal's are rescued animals that were pets. The owner knows alot about the care of animals that were pets and what would happen if you put these once pets in with wild animals...or in with other pets...it would not be a good thing.
My wife and I took the Discovery Tour and we were so glad we did. The reptiles on display is stellar because there are some I have never even heard of or seen before at big zoo's. We love being able to ask questions about the animals and getting answers where as at some bigger zoo's no one is found to ask.
It was so cool to pet a porcupine named Cuddles....feed Capuchin monkeys and a Lemur....be sure to see the Condor (a big and beautiful bird). Won't forget this place.Written 3 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Outside are six or so historic buildings that have been moved to the site, preserving them for future generations to see.Written 30 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
