This place is a tine machine that tells the compete story of the wonderful story of the varid Perankan peolples and thier multi-faceted cultures. The nonya ware collections are the best displayed in the world, and the detailed bead work, silks, batiks, wordworking, etc. are all amazing. Having the visiting lady guests rent the beautiful arrays of sarong and kebayas, and then pose in the mansion for glamour shots, really brings the Mansion alive, giving visitors a real feel of what like was like for the well-to-do of the 1920's.

Penang has Asia's first Swiss-made funicular cable railway system, which takes four minutes. On the hill, you can overlook much of Penang, a bit like Victoria Peak in Hong Kong.

Really nice temple to visit with a beautiful buddha statue on the top! You have to pay a ticket to take the lift to go on top. Before reaching the temple, there is a lake full of turtoises, you can feed them with vegetables from a guy sitting next to the lake.

This is sort of like kids science museum meets botanical gardens. I was pretty satisfied with just the butterfly done but then realized there is so much more! Many different exhibits were to follow, each engaging and informative. I went with adults, but think this would be a big hit for families with kids from around 4-12 years old, but more appropriate for kids ages 7-12 probably.

Excellence service from Mr Resty. He was patient, attentive to the needs of my elderly parents, and would go the extra mile to make all the necessary arrangements for our convenience.
The food available at the hotel was good too, like nyonya curry laska, aglio olio - al dente spaghetti (from Mangga), prawn mee, dhal (breakfast), and the dining experience at Indigo was not to be missed. Overall experience was memorable.

Having never visited a clan house this was an interesting site to visit. It does not take that long to go through the formal exhibit and to see the site. Well worth a visit if you have never been a clan house.

We had heard that Habitat was worth a visit on Penang Hill so we went along. The entrance fee is a little pricey but it was worth it. Easy walk through jungle, got up and close with the monkeys and had amazing views. Definitely worth it. At the end we didn’t wait for the shuttle, just walked back - more views from the road and an easy walk.

A tropical delight. Go early in the day to avoid the humidity. A calm place to wander, sit, absorb.
Lots of paths so ensure good footwear. Use Insect repellent.
Take time to read the plant history.
    Great for photos.

My wife and I visited on a cruise ship excursion and we had just under an hour here to enjoy the pretty surroundings. It's an easy walk and fairly flat. There are many interesting plants and trees to see, and our guide explained that the gardens were mainly known for its trees and plants, in contrast to botanical gardens elsewhere that focused on flowers.

There are wild macaque monkeys here...just don't go too near or wave any bags around as they will try to grab the bag on the premise there might be food inside. We loved the fascinating cannon ball trees, the cannon balls are really odd plants that apparently smell rotten on the inside. We could have easily spent longer here but we were on a tight timetable.

The gardens are located at Jalan Kebun Bunga and it is Malaysia’s only botanic gardens. There are many ferns and cactus houses too, including some rare species.
The Botanic Gardens is open every day from 5 a.m. until 8 p.m and there is parking available.

Worth a trek around this area. Street paintings are good. You have to keep an eye out looking for them but there are plenty. Not all are in plain sight.

Interesting for 30 minutes, mostly toot toot shops now but if you are in the area it's worth a visit. Pau per pee toilet is quite nasty.
