I have taken a number of Walking Tours but this tour was one of the best !

Mark was very punctual, knowledgeable about the history of Penang and he knew what to recommend as to the different ethnic cuisines.

It turned out that our tour was small and that made it even better as Mark was accommodating to make few changes here and there.

The food was fantastic with local Indian, Malay/Indian and Chinese. He ordered just the right amount for us and I enjoyed all the dishes.

The story of how he grew up in a certain neighborhood and the family history was also enlightening as he explained Penang's very colorful history.

If you plan a trip to Penang or have been here but not taken Mark's tour, I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Penang. I took a friend who has lived here for six years and even he was amazed and pleased with Mark's tour.

Mark is an excellent host providing us with a fun and informative tour around Georgetown visiting lots of interesting places and sampling various foods along the way. The food was plentiful and tasty and Mark took time to explain what we were eating. We certainly appreciated trying foods we wouldn't normally have attempted to order and it was all delicious. Mark also went above and beyond and gave us recommendations for restaurants in Georgetown and also the next stop along our trip. Thanks Mark we had a great time. Sharon and Richard.

It has taken me far too long to write this review, but in a way, it means more that my partner and I still remember this food tour as a stand out highlight of our time in Malaysia and Penang. (NOTE we went in Nov 2019 but I can't pick that option!) From the moment we met Danny, his passion and knowledge about Penang stood out. Such varied cultures allow Danny to craft a wonderful tour, taking in the sights, smells and tastes of the 2nd biggest city in Malaysia, whilst reminding you of its humble origins. It gave us new eyes on the town and we went back to many of the stops in the following days. Thank you Danny for loving the city in a way that you were so willing to share with us. We hope you are keeping safe in the difficult times 2020 has brought and we will be back soon! Siobhan and Stefano x

My husband and I are total foodies. We've been on a few dozen food tours across three continents. And this was hands down the best one we've ever experienced. Danny was an absolutely incredible guide, telling us the fascinating history of George Town while taking us through the city. And the food . . . I'm still dreaming about so much of the food. It honestly breaks my heart that I live on the other side of the world, because I've been craving several of the foods we tried since our tour.

Such a brilliant class. My partner and I have done a few different classes now in different countries and this was by far the best one we've ever done. We both learnt so much, both in terms of techniques and the theory behind it. We cooked 4 different dishes, all of which were delicious. Thank you so much Samuel and Jacqueline for welcoming us into your home and sharing some fab recipes/food!

The trip was very disappointing. There was nothing much to see at the top of Komtar tower. The trishaw ride was pleasant. The package came along with dinner. We were not asked about our food preferences. Recommend that the tour operator should check with their guest about their food and dietary requirements before proceeding with booking meals.
The trip is a waste of time and money. I do not recommend booking this package.

Ken was a fantastic guide giving us the history of various stops and of course, getting us to sample plenty of delicious hawker food. The morning was packed with fun biking, weaving through the streets serenaded by the sweet 80 ballads from Ken’s portable boom box. Not a minute was wasted, we were captivated throughout and left with full bellies and smiles on our faces. Highly recommend!

This experience was a highlight of my recent visit to Malaysia. I highly recommend Ken's insightful and enjoyable tour. (Don't be put off by the cycling - It is very flat and an easy cycling experience - and if you prefer, Ken will arrange a trishaw for you to be driven around in!)

I really enjoyed Ken's stories of the history of Penang - his insights into the historical parts of Georgetown and the communities there - and the historical photos and records he shared. He also helped take some great photos.

The food stops were SO GOOD! All food and drinks Ken offered were included in the tour cost - and there was more than enough for breakfast and an early lunch. From an authentic char kway teow, to the Penang white coffee, Indian food and yum cha - it was a wonderful insight into local eateries off the tourist trail which I never would have found myself.

Ken is very friendly and hospitable and keen to share his hometown with visitors.

This tour is suitable for all ages.

Ken adapted this tour to suit my schedule as I was arriving on the Quantum of the Seas. He was waiting for me as the ship docked. Super efficient and organised.

I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. The cycling aspect was very comfortable and enjoyable and let us cover more ground than on foot. Highly recommended!

Great Experience, learned a lot from Tiger, he has thought us the difference of culture and food. Picnic by the Hill side was one of the best experience on the food tour
