Love this Mansion. Bring you back to the old days of how does these people live in such detailing life! Strong influence from Chinese’s tradition. From their head to toes, from the living room to bed, everything is an eyes opening for us!
    Truly “Crazy Rich Asian” 😂

Thank you our Guide, Ms May for such an informative journey in the mansion (Mandarin speaking tour) Awesome!

We've booked the Hard Knock for family activity on Tuesday 31 December 2019, 10 am shuttle bus pick up from Westin hotel. (Free), workshop started at 10:45 am (booked for 10:30 am but due to the shuttle bus delayed) then we had a guided tour with a great staff Mr. Ravi. Awesome experience touring around the facility and history lessons of Malaysia.

Also had a wonderful experience at the Visitor Centre Store there. A Sales Ms. Zoey Teh was super helpful all along even though I didn't show any sign of buying anything for the first 20 minutes of browsing. Explaining to me most of the pieces I was looking at. Eventually I've bought the Limited Edition of #67 / 300 Iron Man statue. a bit pricey but it's a once a life time purchase and probably won't be available after this trip.

Had a quick lunch at the Cafe, Great Pasta and kids friendly. We then had a free shuttle bus back to Hotel at around 2 pm.

Overall I highly recommended to make your way to do the Hard Knock Workshop, and buy your favorite piece from the store. We will definitely visit again on our next trip to KL for sure.

Again we would like to thank Mr. Ravi for the tour, and Ms. Zoey Teh for her fantastic service.

This is an interesting museum documenting the history of Penang with an eclectic mix of exhibits. It’s not the most fascinating museum in the world, but the exhibits are good quality and mostly come with descriptions. I especially liked the mock-up of traditional Chinese houses.

This a fascinating and beautiful house. It is worth visiting for that reason alone, even if you have little interest in Sun Yat Sen - though the historical detail on his time in Penang was also interesting.

We were really surprised by this museum. I guess it's not as popular as the others so the two of us were alone when we visited but the displays are well thought out and interesting. Everything is well explained and there are 3 floors to check out. We learned a lot and enjoyed our time there. A really pleasant surprise off the beaten path -- if you have time, it's worth a visit.

A quiet museum with lots to read on the walls, write ups, newspaper clips and clay figurines. Inspirational history behind how China was freed from western and Japanese occupation and most of all, the corrupted and authoritative manchu reign. A way to iMprove would he toNorivide a little more English write ups as some of the write up is in Chinese without translation. Still a place worth visiting to learn about him and how his comrades fought to safe China. This museum also honoured all the heroes who helped in every way other than the Man himself and attributed the success to all who contributed money, strength and even lives were sacrificed. If you love history, please visit this place. If you don't, it's also worth a visit to know more about the heroes and their perseverance and strong will to save their beloved country and people. DefiNitely worth the time and money.

    Amazing journey, it was.

Penang was the focal point for pilgrim ships from Indonesia and Singapore back in the mid-1880s. At Penang, the pilgrims had to stay for months to wait for their ships to Mecca. And it took another two months to reach the holy land! This historical journey is well documented at Penang Hajj Gallery, Lebuh Acheh. It is a small gallery but educational; with informative leaflets and well written pilgrimage history. You can find old stuff belongs to the pilgrims such as luggage, boxes, hajj documentations, ihram clothing and a lot more. If you are a researcher, or you are interested about Islam or Hajj pilgrimage, this is a place for you to visit. Just a few meters away from the gallery, there is Lebuh Aceh mosque, the place where pilgrims congregated before departing to Mecca. Visit both places for better understanding about Penang as a pilgrims’ hub more than 100 years ago. Free entry.

Bicycle enthusiasts will marvel at the variety of bicycles available. There's some really early bicycles like the Penny Farthing on display. However it is only one room worth of exhibits and the displays are not exactly displayed in an exciting manner. Non-bicycle enthusiasts may not consider this visit essential.

One of the best and oldest art galleries in Malaysia, with a collection beyond compare of Malaysian old masters with excellent provenance. Quite possibly the most prolific in terms of publications, and their works are some of the most informative and well researched that I have come across.

Purchased my first art pieces from them, and have had many enjoyable trips since - there is always more to learn and stories to share. Ee Lene (the gallerist) is a true expert and enthusiast, having grown up being surrounded by art since young, and is continuing her family's legacy in art.
