Went with family, a good fun trip for the kids with an educational aspect to it. They really enjoyed it , and learned a lot about all the different animals. The butterfly outdoor section did look like it needed some maintenance, but besides that it was a good display and an easy walk around suitable for all ages. Some really good educational videos as well.
The downside for first time visitors will be the realization that international visitors to Penang will be charged more than locals for admission, but this is common place in Malaysia.
The gift shop at the exit was a negative experience unfortunately- We were looking at one of the displays but one of the shop staff wouldn’t leave us alone ,even though we politely informed her a couple of times that we were fine and didn’t need her help at the moment. I was going to buy a couple of gifts, but due to her insistent behavior we just left the shop without buying anything.

A wonderful experience and incredible gardens. All the staff there are very helpful and friendly.
We did the cookery class at a reasonable cost but well worth every penny. Several people were at hand throughout the experience and you couldn't go wrong. If you like spices and spice cooking this is one for you. Even amateurs (like myself) come away knowing you've achieved something.
The gardens themselves are beautiful with wonderful hints of fragrance as you walk round.
A truly magical experience and worth a visit. Access around the garden is quite steep at times, with steps so less able bodied people might struggle.

Please pay a visit to this place if you happen to visit the Penang Hill. The direction sign there may not be very clear, but head to the left if you are taking the funicular train to going up. There is an entrance fee but check out if there is any promotion going on with credit cards. I managed to get 50% off with my card though it is not displayed there. The ticket also includes Buggy ride back to the station. It is the highest viewpoint in Penang and the view is spectacular, can spot the mainland there.

If you enjoy some time outside and want to take an easy walk and feel like you in nature, this is the place to go. We strolled around for about two hours or so and had a lot of fun. Most areas are very well maintained but we did come across some areas that was closed or under maintenance, but was not a major issue. There was no entrance fees when we went in and we will highly recommend a visit.

Almost didn’t go because of the bad reviews, but so glad we did!

Tickets to the park are 50 myr per adult. Make sure you don’t arrive between 1-2pm as they close for break! We arrived at 1pm and only just managed to get tickets!!

We already knew we wanted tk walk the trail to the beach with the turtle sanctuary on and from reading previous reviews knew we needed to book a return boat. We spoke to a lady at one of the stalls outside and booked a boat to collect us from the beach to return back. The cost she gave us was 100 myr to go straight back or 120 myr to call at monkey beach on the way. There was two of us. We decided to call at monkey beach. She advised us that the trail we wanted to do usually took 1.30hr to walk and so suggested booking the boat for 2.30hrs time to give us time on the beach. We booked and set off on our hike!

The path is initially paved and we walked past monkeys and stopped to watch a lizard soak in the water. The path was extremely well signposted and was initially a 20 min uphill hike and then up/down the rest. I don’t do a lot of fitness but it was fine for me. The path is uneven natural trail so trainers are definitely a must. We also wore long socks in case of any leeches (didn’t see any but have walked a few forests with them!).

We arrived at the beach having thoroughly enjoyed our jungle walk and looking out for animals along the way. We visited the turtle sanctuary and it was lovely to see the work being done to help.

There is no drink stalls on the turtle beach. Our boat came and he was very informative on the way back, telling us about the different rocks, animals and forest. We stopped at monkey beach for a drink (stalls are here!) and then jumped back on the boat to go back to the pier.

All in all a great afternoon out and we were so glad we did it.

Note: definitely book your boat before you set off on the walk!

Good for older kids - the sludes and play area is fine if your kids are 6+. The toddler play area is quire small and the slides are a bit daunting for them. Well maintained but not enough supervision to make sure that older kids do not start taking the rides of their younger counterparts. There were few colourful balls common in similar play areas . But the daunting looking supertall slides are actually fun for the parents.

Had a short morning visit before drop off to the airport. Nice beach, many water activities like banana boat and others. Shops on both ways to the beach. They sell souvenirs, fridge magnets, gifts and statues. Few restaurants opened for breakfast.
I think late afternoon this area will by highly crowded.

Very pleasant marina and play area, but cameras are not allowed. A great pity, and there was no such problem during my previous visits pre-covid.

Trail to turtle beach in good shape. Some roots and uphill downhill scrambling but pretty easy going generally
Took about 70 min walking pace
Turtle beach far nicer than monkey beach-wider, no litter and fewer people
The sanctuary is a nice addition and interesting
We booked a boat pick up from turtle beach with stop at monkey beach but it was a bit disappointing-narrow crowded and litter filled
    Really sad actually
    Boats were efficient and friendly
    150 for the trip back

With collection of RM10 for citizens and RM50 for non citizens hiker are nonsense. Not much upkeep of beach hygiene. So many trash bottles and broken bridges. Before collection money seem better.

Quite a long drive from Georgetown, but worth it. A unique concept that combines a well-planted garden (dominated by bromeliads) with glass art and ceramics. The combination is striking. Nice views over hills, too.

The place is secluded and hence quite uncrowded. (Parking is not provided; just park outside on the road.)

The friendly guide Encik Jamil will be happy to show you around.

Not 100% suitable for really elderly people or hyperactive young kids, as the various sections are connected by fairly steep metal stairs, but for adults and older kids, no worries at all.

It was a great experience at Tower Spa with amazing hospitality and wonderful customer service. We were treated so well and the massage was very relaxing and rejuvenating. The view from the too was the added bonus. Special shout out to Anita who took great care and exemplified the best !

I had a look around this beach today and it's quite nice. Had to walk through someone's yard to get to it.

The first time I went to this aquarium must have been nearly 40 years ago. After that, the 2nd time I went was 10 years ago. My review is for the most recent visit which was just a few days ago.
I was pleased with the recent visit because they have expanded this aquarium to have more fish tanks which are designed well (except for the fact that some tanks are too high for toddlers to see). The ticket prices are really cheap and you can easily spend a happy hour with your family. While you won't get the expensive crowd-pleasers like seals, dolphins and sharks, there's enough attractive fish and turtles and the whole area is pleasing enough.
Recommended if you are in the area.

This is a place that you can go for do exercise or family gathering or society activities also can. There have mini market that you can buy the drink, food and snack at there but the price got a bit expensive compare at outside. The also got a big playgroud and swimming pool. But public holiday or weekend will be have a lot of people inside the swimming pool so not so suggest.
