What travellers are saying
- Samuel MSingapore, Singapore76 contributionsI wanted to get to know more of the history of the Peranakan people in Penang and this visit did it for me. Kudos to Stanley for the well informed guided tour and his explanation on the various use of various items unique to the peranakan culture- worth a visit if you’re in Penang.Written 24 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Adam BTownsville, Australia9 contributionsWas a great museum for all ages. The displays were very well kept and gave a great view of the history of Penang’s using teddy bears. Well worth a visit. Great valueWritten 24 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Heli PHelsinki, Finland5,373 contributionsOnly place in Batu Feringhi worth to go shopping or at least browsing is an old Chinese shop selling delicate handicrafts and batik art, some quite old. Figures carved in bone, small wooden statues, cloissonnee clocks, paintings on glass done from the reverse side and other small curio objects make one wonder if all this will be lost when the craftmen die.Written 24 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- bbbyanneKuala Lumpur, Malaysia3 contributionsThis is our third time here, prior to this the kids were toddlers and tweens. The place was previously just a butterfly farm. Alot of improvements after it was rebranded to Entopia. More insects and reptiles was on display with different types of “worlds” were made as part of the journey through the park.
They also had friendly staff, Remy was exceptionally cool & simply awesome! He was fun and gave out alot of interesting facts to my teens. He managed to keep my teens interested by letting them touch a scorpion and spider web. He even took the time to explain in detail on the other insects and reptiles that he thought would interest us.
The only set back is that, the place didn’t have anymore staff like Remy, the rest of the park left us with just simple facts on the information board to keep us interested.Written 20 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - JanetC3 contributionsWent for dinner at the restaurant - ambience is very nice. - pianocelloShah Alam, Malaysia1,170 contributionsThe first time I went to this aquarium must have been nearly 40 years ago. After that, the 2nd time I went was 10 years ago. My review is for the most recent visit which was just a few days ago.
I was pleased with the recent visit because they have expanded this aquarium to have more fish tanks which are designed well (except for the fact that some tanks are too high for toddlers to see). The ticket prices are really cheap and you can easily spend a happy hour with your family. While you won't get the expensive crowd-pleasers like seals, dolphins and sharks, there's enough attractive fish and turtles and the whole area is pleasing enough.
Recommended if you are in the area.Written 3 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - SUHASINEY@SEU338EKuala Kangsar, Malaysia98 contributionsA must visit place if you are in Penang, guys ! My friends and I had a great experience in the museum since all the things were upside down. Service provided here was awesome and the staffs were really friendly. They taught us how to give a pose and also took pictures for us. Reasonable entrance fee and definitely it will be a wonderful experience if you go with friends ...Written 16 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ALIAANUAR@SEU338EGeorge Town, Malaysia21 contributionsIn this museum, they display variety of Malaysian food. So it very attract the foreign tourist to try all of the food by promoting them in the museum. It looks really tasty though and looks real.Written 14 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- BenYorkieKuala Lumpur, Malaysia1,377 contributionsWhat a beautiful old building and with delightful decor and ambience inside. The setting certainly helped to make our luncheon dining experience a memorable one.
The set lunch offers some wide choices of food and with 8 of us altogether, we got to enjoy a variety of offerings - steak, fish, fish and chips, and risotto.
Great desserts as well.
Good parking, excellent service and very attractive prices.
This really is a gem of a place - well, we think so.Written 30 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - ClarissaCSLKuala Lumpur, Malaysia145 contributionsIt's new & clean, nicely maintained as well with lots of eateries, most of which were upscale and catering towards Western tourist.
Nothing much to do except to take a walk by the marina.
Very hot in the afternoon though, with not much shade if you want to walk by the marina.Written 23 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Wilbur LeeSydney, Australia20 contributionsWe've booked the Hard Knock for family activity on Tuesday 31 December 2019, 10 am shuttle bus pick up from Westin hotel. (Free), workshop started at 10:45 am (booked for 10:30 am but due to the shuttle bus delayed) then we had a guided tour with a great staff Mr. Ravi. Awesome experience touring around the facility and history lessons of Malaysia.
Also had a wonderful experience at the Visitor Centre Store there. A Sales Ms. Zoey Teh was super helpful all along even though I didn't show any sign of buying anything for the first 20 minutes of browsing. Explaining to me most of the pieces I was looking at. Eventually I've bought the Limited Edition of #67 / 300 Iron Man statue. a bit pricey but it's a once a life time purchase and probably won't be available after this trip.
Had a quick lunch at the Cafe, Great Pasta and kids friendly. We then had a free shuttle bus back to Hotel at around 2 pm.
Overall I highly recommended to make your way to do the Hard Knock Workshop, and buy your favorite piece from the store. We will definitely visit again on our next trip to KL for sure.
Again we would like to thank Mr. Ravi for the tour, and Ms. Zoey Teh for her fantastic service.Written 6 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - IRHSRochester191 contributionsExcellent example of a Kongsi but very crowded with tour groups. You have to maneuver your way around them to get a view of the area. I visited in the morning when the sun was behind the building, difficult to get a good view of the roof figures.Written 6 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
