What travellers are saying
- Samuel MSingapore, Singapore76 contributionsI wanted to get to know more of the history of the Peranakan people in Penang and this visit did it for me. Kudos to Stanley for the well informed guided tour and his explanation on the various use of various items unique to the peranakan culture- worth a visit if you’re in Penang.Written 24 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- sylviaganSingapore, Singapore66 contributionsWe went there as a family of five with elderly and young children. When we reached the top, the air was so refreshing and cooling. There was even face painting when you exit from the funicular. The view was so beautiful and walk was easy for us. High recommend one of the must go place when you visit Penang!Written 16 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Adam BTownsville, Australia9 contributionsWas a great museum for all ages. The displays were very well kept and gave a great view of the history of Penang’s using teddy bears. Well worth a visit. Great valueWritten 24 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Krithika9 contributionsA beautiful garden overlooking the sea. We did a self guided tour that was very informative. This beauty tucked away makes you feel like it is a secret garden with a beautiful pond, rare plant species and birds chirping.
Make sure to apply mosquito repellent properly, that is provided at the ticket counter.Written 9 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Jason Khoo1 contributionGreat experience today celebrating our daughter’s birthday. - Manickjg1,204 contributionsCame to Penang on holiday and stayed at Batu Ferringhi. While it was pretty crowded over the weekend, there was always a spot to put your things down and join in the fun on playing on the sand or jumping into the sea - the water was very warm and lovely. There is plenty of paid water sport activities to do however we did not participate in any of them and just enjoyed the sun and surf. Most pleasant and the beach was the best part of the holiday. Would like to come back and spend more days at Batu Ferringhi Beach.Written 15 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jesmin1 contributionWe spent our 2D1N in base camp. It was a lovely night with Mr Sumon. He is kind, friendly, passionate and we had a lot of fun with him. He prepared fried rice, satay, hotdog and drinks for our dinner. Not only delicious but also very big portion, we even keep it for next day breakfast. Mr Sumon stay in the campsite until really late night and talk a lot with us. I would say we are very lucky to meet Mr Simon. He would be one of our reason to visit escape next time to meet him again. Thank you Mr Sumon ❤️
The toilet is clean, they also prepare room for charging. Highly recommend a group of friend or couple to try the basecamp in escape. Would be a very memorable and precious experience.Written 28 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Bobo NganHong Kong, China427 contributionsAs I visited here 7 years before, this time I just bring my friend to here to have some photos and stay only 1 hours. Both of us have no time to hike inside to the beach. I find here more family come than 7 years ago. Sign name at receiption and get a pass to hike inside.Written 14 May 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Adam0418George Town, Malaysia4 contributionsDue to Covid, almost no tourists visiting this night market. Only some and limited stores still running.
A nice and slow walk after dinner. Hope that when Malaysia is allowing tourists to return, this will inject life to the business again.Written 24 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - RajdeepBhattacharjeeKolkata (Calcutta), India1,824 contributionsOn our way to visit Gurney drive night market at Batu Feringghi, we visit this place as planned and this half an hour break worth it.
There are numerous landmarks in Penang that are sights to behold. One of them is none other than the Floating Mosque of Tanjung Bungah. Situated along Tanjung Bungah’s stretch of beach, gives a 360-degree panoramic view of the sea.
It’s the first mosque in the country to be built on the sea, with pillars and stilts supporting its majestic structure.Tanjung Bungah is pretty quiet when compared to its more touristy neighbors, Batu Feringghi, Gurney and Georgetown.
Watching the boats on the sea near beach in evening make you will feel like its a picture from any fantasy novel. You will definitely love the scenic beauty of the place and peacefulness.
You can’t miss Tanjung Bungah as the place is on the way to Batu Feringghi – just make sure you don’t forget to stop by and pay a visit.Written 31 July 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - youwahlai@SEU338EKluang, Malaysia87 contributionsQuite a nice and convenient mall with many shops and also a variety of eateries. - Graeme LKuala Lumpur, Malaysia206 contributionsThe visit was interesting to see the views over Georgetown and Butterworth, Avoid the run-down Belleview hotel as the restaurant was closed and would not even serve us a drink.Written 30 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Alfred CKuala Lumpur, Malaysia7 contributionsThis street are full of shop selling tourist sourvenir, drinks and food. but dont let that distract you from appreciating the history behind this street. This street is attributed to the Armenian Family that contributed to the development of george town including E&O hotel that was part of the heritage. at the end of this street there was Two famous street art ( 1 bicycle and another one a boy trying to reach for a fruit which sadly gave way to development).Written 11 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
