We went there as a family of five with elderly and young children. When we reached the top, the air was so refreshing and cooling. There was even face painting when you exit from the funicular. The view was so beautiful and walk was easy for us. High recommend one of the must go place when you visit Penang!

Was a great museum for all ages. The displays were very well kept and gave a great view of the history of Penang’s using teddy bears. Well worth a visit. Great value

We spent our 2D1N in base camp. It was a lovely night with Mr Sumon. He is kind, friendly, passionate and we had a lot of fun with him. He prepared fried rice, satay, hotdog and drinks for our dinner. Not only delicious but also very big portion, we even keep it for next day breakfast. Mr Sumon stay in the campsite until really late night and talk a lot with us. I would say we are very lucky to meet Mr Simon. He would be one of our reason to visit escape next time to meet him again. Thank you Mr Sumon ❤️
The toilet is clean, they also prepare room for charging. Highly recommend a group of friend or couple to try the basecamp in escape. Would be a very memorable and precious experience.

As I visited here 7 years before, this time I just bring my friend to here to have some photos and stay only 1 hours. Both of us have no time to hike inside to the beach. I find here more family come than 7 years ago. Sign name at receiption and get a pass to hike inside.

Only place in Batu Feringhi worth to go shopping or at least browsing is an old Chinese shop selling delicate handicrafts and batik art, some quite old. Figures carved in bone, small wooden statues, cloissonnee clocks, paintings on glass done from the reverse side and other small curio objects make one wonder if all this will be lost when the craftmen die.

The first time I went to this aquarium must have been nearly 40 years ago. After that, the 2nd time I went was 10 years ago. My review is for the most recent visit which was just a few days ago.
I was pleased with the recent visit because they have expanded this aquarium to have more fish tanks which are designed well (except for the fact that some tanks are too high for toddlers to see). The ticket prices are really cheap and you can easily spend a happy hour with your family. While you won't get the expensive crowd-pleasers like seals, dolphins and sharks, there's enough attractive fish and turtles and the whole area is pleasing enough.
Recommended if you are in the area.

Came to Penang a couple of times but never heard about this place before, so decided to give it a try. This is one of the Penang’s hidden gems. I was greeted by a lovely lady Elaine, my tour guide, who brought me back to the history of music in Penang. The whole tour took around 2 hours, but you will never feel the time passed, as they emphasize on engaging your senses. You are encourage to touch, feels and listen to the instruments. Had a blast here and hopefully more people can discover this place too. Please make an appointment at 012-416 1550 before drop by as they are following a strict SOP due to covid.

This place is very suitable for hiking and people can also enjoy the nature during weekend. The beach and sea water is clean and clear!! It is worth to be there even hiking is very tired for me. I took around 2 hours to be there but this varies to people!

This a fascinating and beautiful house. It is worth visiting for that reason alone, even if you have little interest in Sun Yat Sen - though the historical detail on his time in Penang was also interesting.

I have tried a few spas in Penang throughout the years. I find Danai spa is one of the good ones especially the Tanjung Bungah park branch. It is a hidden gem. It’s in a bungalow with Baliness ambience. Sadly there’s no more outdoor jacuzzi due to hygiene purpose, thanks to Covid. I have tried their other branches at G hotel, Tanjung Tokong Wellness centre and Eastin hotel but only this branch where I feel like I am in a spa. This branch with a bit of upkeep and maintenance it will be a popular spa spot with tourists and locals alike.

So far no complains with their masseuses. They have been good and consistent. My last masseuse, Lina is commendable and I don’t mind having her again on my next visit.

I used to pay per visit when I was living abroad but since I moved back to Penang I decided to sign up a spa and massage package with Danai. It’s much cheaper that way.

I hope Danai will consider maintaining a branch with Balinese concept instead of changing them all to a Wellness centre which I find looks more like a clinic or a centre.

Wow! Wow! What a great day trekking on the Island of Jerajak in Penang ….memorable reflection of our hike recorded in pics and video… thanks so much Matahari Tours ….Princilia… SJ , Ishak and your team … l sincerely hope this historical place of such interest and unique beauty will draw more people to come and visit to appreciate our own heritage! The hike was well organized being the first visiting the historical sites … for me .. the quarantine camp, the church, the prison, the bunker, the Russian Memorial … and the hike to the top … Would definitely recommend this hike not only to those that have a medical interest but also those who have an interest in our historical events … do preserve these treasures!

Do yourself a big foodie favour and make time to do this walking tour around the streets of Penang with Danny. We went at night but day tours are also available. Our personal recommendation would be to do it early in your stay so then you get the chance to go back and revisit places and it also gives you the chance to search out other places that might appeal to you. Really worthwhile and cost friendly. Jennie & Chris

I think Pearly Kee's cooking class was one of my highlights of my trip to George Town, Penang. Pearly was very accommodating and picked us up from our Airbnb and gave us a driving tour through some residential neighborhoods to show us parts of Georgetown that the average tourist doesn't usually see. Cooking class was in an outdoor covered kitchen. It was nice and cool despite the outside heat. Pearly taught us a lot about some herbs and root vegetables...now I'm not afraid to use ginger, tumeric, and galanga in my daily cooking. The food came out delicious. I didn't realize I could cook like that! Pearly was kind and sweet and we learned a lot about cooking and Penang. We purchased her two cooking books and I have already made a few dishes since I've been home in California. I recommend her books for some yummy, simple recipes to bring back home. I'm looking forward to another class when I return.
