We visited with Sicilian relatives. There was a lot to see. We had a guide though he only spoke Italian-- but using iTranslate app we gathered some info. that we wouldn't have. There is a lot of climbing but we found it fascinating that the ancient ruins were in decent shape. The small museum of artifacts was also good.

These couple of rocks at sea level are accessible only by boat, not far from the Porticello harbour. While they represent a hazard for boats if you do not know about them, they offer a beautiful spot for snorkelling and diving, with crystal clear water and quite some fish activity. I did not know about them, and was glad to take the boat tour which took me there (among other places).

Lido Fondachello is the best beach lido in the Palermo region! Non-stop fun the whole day!

The water was clear, crisp and clean, with plenty of room to standing room to relax. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Joshua who works at the front desk speaks fluent English, which was a huge help as an English speaker! Also, they were constantly organizing events to keep the party going, such as water aerobics, and fun games that involve the whole family. The food at the bar is delicious as well, serving the typical Italian panini and piadine.

The lido itself was beautiful. It looked as if it was recently remodeled as everything was very clean and updated. The lounge chairs are spaced out all over the facility, with some in the sand, and some on the concrete. I really appreciated that they had both a sand beach and a walk in concrete entrance to the water if you don't want to get you feet all sandy. Free-Wifi is also included which is a nice bonus when you're traveling abroad.

I spent a few month in Sicily, and traveled to Lido's all over the region, and Lido Fondachello really stood out above the rest. If you are in the region I strongly recommend making a trip.

This is a pleasant small church in Sicily, Santa Flavia. Some of the art work needs restoring but some is very beautiful. No cameras are allowed in the church. It is worth a visit if you are that way, you can park in the road outside the church.

A nice small lido with all facilities available , we enjoyed day there, however there is a £10 entrance which allows you use of sunbeds and umbrellas, showers and a cabin to change,I can became quiet expensive if you're going everyday .

SantElia is a lovely spot, it is like stepping back in time. The views are beautiful, the weather is great but there is litter and dog poo everywhere which spoils the place completely.

The local youngsters enjoy jumping off the cliffs into the sea and seem to have great fun doing it, but sadly they can't be bothered to take their rubbish home with them and it builds up on the cliffs until the rains wash it into the sea.

Pollution from fishing boats is a problem too, discharged fuel and a cloud of fumes blighted our time there.

That said it seems to be a very popular place with local brides and grooms to have their photos taken. Il Nodo is a decent beach bar with good value cocktails and it is a short (but very littered) walk to Porticello which has a few more bars and restaurants to enjoy, and a busy fishing port.

    Do not visit.

We had a week booked here in September 2022 but left after 3 days as the place is terrible.

There is nothing here for tourists to do or see apart from some restaurants and a harbour.

We expected a quaint fishing harbour but unfortunately we got a dirty, run down and unsafe fishing village. The beach is small and stoney and any decent beaches are a train ride away.

The paths are virtually non existent and when there are paths they are broken and uneven. The roads are not much better. Not a place for people who do not drive or more importantly have mobility issues !

We were staying here on this beach in a holiday home with private access to the ocean.

So we did enjoy this little beach here daily. If you arrive by car, there is a good number of lots right at the main road here. But they fill up very fast. After 10pm it is full - at least in high season. Parking is actually free, even though some local guy will try to charge you.

The beach is free as well, even though there's a small kiosk, where you can rent chairs and get some ice cream and sandwiches.

It is a stone beach, so just a towel will not be very comfortable. And I have to say that there's quite some garbage on the beach.

Besides that, it's a nice little beach. Mostly locals and Italian Tourists gather here, not many international visitors, which is a good thing. The water here is really nice and warm. Very clean as well, at least in the morning. In the afternoon, when the tide changes, more algaes and garbage are being washed close to the beach. So take you swim before that.

It's not a perfect beach. It's not the cleanest. But when the water is still clean it's just so beautifully warm and almost without waves. Really nice. Also to get a glimpse of the local life.

Not worth for a daytrip I guess, but if you're around this area, surely worth a look. After 7pm the kiosk closes and most people will leave. A good moment to enjoy the beach for an evening walk or to let your dog have a quick swim.
