So wou can't walk here, it's a bit far from xianning, so you can take buss, or take taxi. I think taxi costed us 30-40yuan.
When we first arrived we were affrait that the cave might be closed, as it was November and Monday. But luckily it was open, although the other amenities, restaurants, shops, etc. was closed. A bit spooky place....it gives the feeling like you survived the apocalypse. Surrounding lake s beautiful. The toilets...just don't go there....or ask stuff, if there are water. The toilet was so gros, even there wasn't any running water, it looked like no one bothered about that and did everything mother nature put them do.
You will cross the cave quite quickly, but when you go out, definitely climb the mountain, you will get to daoist temple, and that's just marvelous.

This relatively small national park actually packs a nice relaxing punch. It's a welcome retreat from the busy streets of Wuhan, and if you have a free day, and enjoy bamboo forests - this place would not let you down.

The hike itself is not very strenuous, most of the time the ascent is via a paved road, although you can choose trails if you like, and the road itself is clean, rubbish-binned, and provides mellow, pleasant scenery.

At the peak you can see a good overview of Xianning, and if you follow the signs and are willing to walk a bit longer - you can also find a temple somewhere midway up the mountain.

The hill itself is not very high, maybe around 400 m in altitude, if not less, but again - a pleasant walk and nice day trip away from Wuhan hustle and pollution.
