- Hellosteph111Seattle, WA153 contributionsMy favorite kind of museum. Not overwhelming in scale with some absolute gems. We were guided by a charming art historian (Valeria) who much enhanced our time there. Lovely works, primarily Italian Renaissance.Written 30 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Gianfranco PMilano, Italia21 contributionsIf you are familiar with early English literature, you know about the Vercelli Book. It is an anthology of Old English prose and verse that dates back to the late 10th century. The Capitulary Library of Vercelli offers several other exhibits of interest about the European Middle Ages. Vercelli is in Piedmont, northern Italy, halfway between Milan and Turin, on the main railway line. The Duomo (i.e. Cathedral) is within walking distance from the railway station,
While you are there I recommend a visit to the city centre (Piazza Cavour and surroundings) for some typical Piedmontese atmosphere.Written 16 October 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We stopped in Vercelli to visit a local rice family farm and learn about the rice growing process in Italy. May is a good month to visit before it gets too hot and before mosquito season. Lunch on the farm was outstanding and the risotto was fabulous.Written 13 July 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Bygone beauty

This once splendid synagogue has been patially restored- the building has been repaired and the Holy Ark is truly a work of art. It no longer has an active congregation, and there are no regular services held here.
Our guide was a wonderful young man who shows the synagogue to visitors on a volunteer basis. Although he was not Jewish, he had a genuine appreciation for the place and its history and spirituality. I do not think a tour in English is an option there.
