What travellers are saying
- Roberta A14 contributionsGreat tasting room with a super friendly staff and lots of great wines to taste. Their wine club is a good value with deliveries twice at year and the option to select red, white dessert or a mix. If you come in from the east on Hwy 46 make this the first winery you stop at!Written 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sam SLong Beach, CA637 contributionsBeautiful winery with a wonderful sculpture garden, killer views, and good wines. We were there on a Saturday, and they had a live band and a taco truck. The staff are super friendly and helpful.
I highly recommend.Written 16 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Come for the wine, but also enjoy the food, the view and the service. The Paso Robles area is beautiful; far exceeding the natural beauty of the Napa & Sonoma areas. And, Calcareous Vineyard has what is likely the best view of the entire area. The attached picture was taken - without filters - from the tasting room patio. Gorgeous! We enjoyed all of their wines - ALL of them. The food menu is also exciting and every item we ordered proved to be delicious, good portions, and reasonably priced. Plan your visit to Calcareous so that you can include lunch as part of your day here. On top of the wonderful wines & food was the service from those that explained it all, served it all and shared their knowledge & stories of the area with us. We were served by George on one visit and Christian on the second visit as well as the tasting room manager Bryce. All were well-versed in the wines they were representing, and the Paso Robles area. I would hire any of them for my own business! Thanks Calcareous for a great experience.Written 25 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ccswimzVentura, CA15 contributionsOur visit to the winery was fun, informative, and the wine was great! I couldn't believe the tasting was completely complimentary. We tasted 5 wines with a great host and then we did a tour of the "caves". The outdoor setting is beautiful with nice views of the vineyard. We all enjoyed it so much that all 5 of us bought wine to take home! AND the bottle prices were so reasonable. My favorite was the Chardonay and was only $32. Another person in our group LOVED the Cabernet sauvignon, which is the staple for the winery, and it too was only $55/bottle. Highly Recommend this Winery.Written 31 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DebWDublin, OH11 contributionsFirst tasting in Paso Robles and it was the best! Caught an early morning tasting that taught us a lot from a young man named Clayton. He was very well versed in the wines we tasted and even helped out my SIL who does not care for red wines and brought her white wines instead. The wines we tasted were interesting and delicious. We were welcomed on a wet morning and shown a table immediately. We were fortunate at getting a reservation as have heard they go fast. The tasting room is in a beautiful barn with all kinds of seating. You'll be hard pressed to find better wine in Paso Robles. - Mark MLa Palma, CA50 contributionsGreat place if you like learning about our country's history. Tons of interesting things to see here in addition to all the vintage and more modern airplanes and military hardware. The docents are wonderful. It is just a mile or two off Hwy. 46 East and well worth the trip. I look forward to my next trip to Paso Robles just to see what additions have been made, because they are always improving the place.Written 6 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - janiceburchTempleton, CA98 contributionsThis is a fabulous tasting room. It's on the higher end price-wise for tasting but the location, views, staff and of course the wine make it all worth it. This is one to add to the list of wineries to visit on a trip to Paso Robles.Written 3 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kevin VLincoln, NE144 contributionsWe actually went to the tasting room in downtown Paso Robles because they’re open a little later. The staff was very accommodating and attentive. The wines here are amazing, much better than what we can buy in grocery stores!Written 17 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Reena PSunnyvale, CA7 contributionsPerfect venue and experience for the entire family. We took my teenage niece and my elderly in-laws with us. Everyone had a wonderful time. My father-in-law struggles to walk but we were able to use one of the complimentary wheelchairs available.Written 27 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 87SCubaStaunton, VA104 contributionsThe wine tasting was excellent - we were driving through Paso Robles and only had time for one winery stop along the way and we were very glad we chose Ecluse. We ended up bringing some bottles back with us all the way to Fiji! The wine was lovely but the highlight was really speaking with the team, including the owner, and hearing how passionate they are about wine.Written 18 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - a-travelin-foodieUnited States1,055 contributionsMaybe our favorite tasting experience of this trip. The hilltop setting is absolutely amazing - completely makes the experience. Pricey because it includes signature wines with paired charcuterie. It was worth the experience for us, though we do wish we had the possibility of waiving part of the cost if we bought some bottles. Our hostess was knowledgeful, friendly and fun, and we were lucky that no one else showed up, so it was completely private. Wines of course were lovely, charcuterie good and mostly well paired, though there could have been a tad more. The views are stunning and just so amazing on a cooler, clear day (maybe not as comfy if it's over 100 degrees). Love that they personalized the tasting menu for us. You still park in the regular lot; they drive you up there in their van.Written 14 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
