As good as a library can be. Great staff, always someone who's willing to go out of their way to help. Interesting monthly programs.

We went for the day. There is a wide variety of shops. We believe that there were some good deals. There is no place to sit and have a cold drink. There are soda machines around the mall. There are fast food places just outside the mall.

This is our favorite place for canoeing. There are several lakes with easy boat ramp access, ranging from the relatively small Chilson Pond (only suitable early in the season - too choked with water weeds as the summer progresses) to the charming and less used Appleton Lake, up to the whole Bishop Lake complex which itself is in two parts connected by a pair of fun, narrow channels, and a further, longer channel connects to Caroga Lake. The run from Bishop Lake ramp to Caroga Lake and back is a very pleasant way to spend an hour or two on the water.

While the lakes are frozen in the winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn each have their unique charms. Bird watching is always great - we have seen flocks of Sandhill Cranes, Bald Eagles, Ospreys, Herons and other waterfowl, and many, many kinds of songbirds. We like to get out on the water early in the morning before the summer crowds arrive and the water is still. Later in the day, you may have to wait a bit for your turn at the boat ramp, particularly at the popular Bishop Lake. For kayakers, the Bishop Lake boat launch features a self-launch apparatus.

While we have not used the other features of the park, it has three campgrounds, cabins for rent, an equestrian area, archery course, picnic grounds, and a beach and waterfront that also contains Jump Island, a set of large, inflated floats of various shapes that appear to be great fun for kids.

Finally, the park is crisscrossed with numerous trails - it is a very popular mountain biking destination.

The park does require a State Recreation Pass, but if you enjoy the outdoors, it is well worth the investment, particularly to visit such a wonderful park so close to civilization.

Although not open a lot, if it IS open, you should take the time to visit. Seeing the inside of this historic train depot is really fun, and they have a nice collection of items from Howell's history. Seeing how railroads were operated in the 1800's is really an eye-opener!

Enjoyed a tasting of beers at Eternity Brewing earlier this year. The beers were tasty and the service was good. The Brewery is in a strip mall so there is not a lot of character to the tasting room, but it’s worth checking out. Smells a bit inside, but you get used to it. Clean though.

Chemung Hills is a challenging course with many elevated tees and a number of tight fairways. I used to be a private club but has been open to the public for several years now.
Well maintained, the course is in great shape and the greens are fast.
There is also a banquet facility suitable for large party's and weddings and a great restaurant and bar for relaxing after your round.

We took the kids here to play on the large playscape, bounce houses, arcade games and laser tag! They had a blast! There were ages 6 and 10 at the time. The playscape they even made me go in with them and it was crazy how neat it was up there. The bounce houses were fun because they offered large slides for the kids and a few basketball games. The arcades were your standard arcades. The laser tag was unique. It did scare the 6 year old but the 10 year old had a blast and the staff explaining it to us did a great job for the kiddos to understand how to play. Highly recommend this place!

With a 55 mph speed limit the road is not easy for sightseeing. If you’re heading east make sure to look to the right after a tall large business building and prepare to halt. Anyone of all ages will love this rare business. There is so much to see inside and outside. It’s relaxing to walk through, taking as long as you wish.
The owners and vendors are extremely knowledgeable and eager to answer questions or just chat.
