I had been told that going on a cruise is definitely the best way to have a vacation, so my expectations were already high before booking with Carnival Cruise Elation. I had always been told that when on a cruise, the staff will treat you like royalty, so I figured that many of my friends who had built the hype up were exaggerating. But to my surprise, sailing with Carnival Cruise Elation, I actually saw something greater than my friends had told of. There were staff members on this cruise that truly cared and were genuine in making sure I was having fun and served. So many times, I've went to businesses that provided customer service and their staff would only provide customer service because they had to and it was their job (many would just go through the motions and give you the impression they really don't care). At Carnival Elation, I met people that worked there that it truly was their pleasure to serve and take care of me. One particular young lady I would like to sing the highest praise and honor is Marites from the Philippines. She was found doing cleaning all throughout the ship at tables. She was not even assigned to deal specifically with me or my Mom & Dad who were with me. Anytime she was cleaning tables and floors throughout the cruise, she had a big smile, full of joy, and was always dancing and singing. She would make me, Mom and Dad laugh and go out of her way to come over to us and make sure we were having fun. We got to know her and truly love her. Anytime we saw her, we wanted to check in with her and hang out with her, as she was always full of joy and had such a great bright glowing light in her spirit. She found a special place in our hearts, and we truly feel homesick already after leaving her and Carnival. Yes, the cruise had amazing food, drinks, service, fun, and entertainment, but the true "IT" factor is the people. And the one person that truly shines as the face of what an awesome cruise should be is Marites. She was the "IT" factor for me and I plan on coming back because of how awesome and loved she made me, Mom, and Dad feel on Carnival. Thank you, Marites for making our stay be full of joy and treating us like family! We love and miss you bunches! May your light shine brighter and brighter! And Carnival higher ups, I hope you will take great notice of this superstar you have on your team and look to advance her into a great leadership role, as that what I see in her. A great leader!

Bye bye Carnival. Second time scammed by these unethical operators in just two months. Seasoned traveler did a check mate with Carnival Cruise lines. Documented phone records prior to departure to verify their claimed offers. Boarded the vessels and both times their claimed offer changed. Beware if you make the choice to take advantage of a casino offer from Carnival. Be prepared to be called a liar if you don't have every detail in writing and in your possession. As far as the cruise food, t has a lot be be desired. Rudeness of the staff is in abundance.

This is a small, old boat that needs a new caption. Not happy with our cruise and carnival doesn't want to make it right. In our cabin, the AC didn't work nor did the fridge and TV remote. Caption took us straight into a storm that ruined the rest of the cruise for my family. I'm not sure we will ever cruise again. This was a horrible vacation for my family.

This was my first cruise, and I loved it! My favorite parts of the trip were Princess Cay’s, the casino, and the spa! The reason this vacation was so fun was the staff! I never passed a crew member without them taking time to say hello. My stateroom attendant Edi was super accommodating, and it was nice to have someone around in case you needed anything. In the casino, the dealer named Constantine was very nice, and he was patient with me as I learned the table games. One of my favorite waiters on the trip was Karl. He was very cheerful and kind. One of my absolute favorite staff members was Cecilia in the spa. She did my manicure, and she was so nice to talk to. I also had an excellent massage done by Joyce. Her hands are absolute magic. Finally, Eduardo, LiA, and Peter kept the events on the ship exciting and engaging. If you are planning a cruise on the Elation, I definitely recommend keeping an eye out for these awesome staff members!

We are 5 hrs into the cruise and the A/C quit working. Then the refrigerator broke with my refrigerated medication in it. Looks like we are stuck on a ship for the next 5 days with no air-conditioning, hot drinks, and a box fan in a room with four people. They didn't even offer to comp us for the inconvenience. We asked and they still will not comp us for the for failing to meet the terms of service or offer another cabin. My wife is a gold member and we paid extra for the "First to the Fun" pass and it still made no difference. This is my first cruise and our first cruise as a family and it's not that great. I'll be booking with another cruise line in the future if we even risk another one. My advise is to book an all inclusive vacation at the destination you would have cruised to.
