Of all the companies we have dealt with during this pandemic Royal Caribbean has been the absolute worst. Even tho we had spent quite a bit of money on insurance they refused to give us a full refund even tho THEY cancelled the cruise. The gave us a partial refund and a partial credit. Every other company we dealt with gave us full refunds due to the pandemic. Royal Caribbean thinks they are entitled to keep some of our money and offer a "cruise credit" How on earth they think we would ever want to go a on cruise with them after they way they have treated us and others is beyond me. Many companies handled this situation very well others did not. Royal Caribbean's handling of it was horrible.

We had booked a cruise leaving San Juan on November 14, 2020. One of our family members didn't feel good about traveling at that time so we called and cancelled. We were told at the time (it has been 6 weeks) that we would be receiving a Future Cruise Credit Certificate that we can use. To date we have not received the credit and we ended up booking on another line because of it. Has anyone else been having problems receiving their credits? We would love to book another cruise on RC but not if we are going to have to pay for something we already paid for.

We weren’t able to stop at 1 of our ports because another ship was in our spot. We missed a major part of our trip. The rock climbing wall was closed. The ship was old and pictures were incorrect. The windows in the dining area and our kids rooms were filthy. The boat shook so much at night we couldn’t sleep. Not rocking but shaking like something was wrong with the engines. We bought the drunk package. Drinks were small with little alcohol in it

Our only other cruise in recent years was a Disney that is a step above the Royal Caribbean (RC) experience. No real complaints about RC. Food was good, entertainment was good. Showing of Super Bowl was great. Progresso Mexico was not impressive. The dock is at the end of a mile long pier with free bus service to town. Cozumel was a much better stop. WIFI was expensive at $70 per device. Verizon cell service was available in ports for $5 per day per device. The one thing that would have made the cruise better would be an easy method to communicate with other passengers. We could not locate our friends at times.

We just completed our 3rd cruise. The first 2 were with Disney and they were exceptional. Costco offered a deal with Royal Caribbean, so we gave them a shot last week. The food and service in the main dining room was good, but the quality of food at the buffet was less than stellar. We paid for the unlimited soda package, but by the end of the cruise, most of the soda machines were either dispensing soda that was either flat or tasted off..likely the machines should have been cleaned mid-cruise. Overall, the ship seemed dingy. There was quite a bit of rust around, and the wood railings on the deck were quite worn. The decor in the stateroom was dated, but the room was clean. The singers and dancers seemed talented, but it was uncomfortable watching the sing and dance to the theme song from Shaft when all the singers and almost all the dancers were white, and the female dancers were wearing Afro wigs. The biggest issue by far was the apparent lack of planning and/or poor execution when it came time to board and devised the ship. We scheduled our initial boarding for 12:30pm, then we received an e-mail stating boarding would be delayed because of fog at Galveston. We didn’t get onto the ship until 3:30-4pm. Most of the delay didn’t seem like it had anything to do with the fog. We had to wait in line at several points to show and show again our passports and boarding passes. Then, we were given a number and told to take a seat for another 40-45 minutes, until our number was called. Then we stood in yet another line, but the made it onto the boat. Deboarding at destinations was OK, but when it came time to reboard, the disfunction returned. We were left to stand in long slow-moving lines in the hot sun, without shade. Other cruises in similar situations set up portable structures to provide shade to the people in line, but our staff apparently didn’t care about us. Then, when we were almost back to Galveston, we were advised of another fog delay. We were supposed to deboard around 10am, but we didn’t escape the ship until almost 2pm. Several crew members admitted the ship frequently experienced heavy fog at Galveston. During this delay, there seemed to be no real plan for dealing with the situation. It seems the captain and crew aren’t capable of planning ahead to either make adjustments to allow for the likelihood of fog delays, or to at least develop a plan to better handle the delays, if they are unavoidable. Bottom line, we learned our lesson, and we won’t do another Royal Caribbean cruise.
