Yet to go. Booked a Cruise for two in Dec 2023 on 'Royal Princess'. Needed Customer Service advice/information. Found that Customer Service is practically non-existent. I may consider NOT booking another cruise with Princess Liness.

This was a bucket list trip and the reality of it was amazing. Cabin comfortable, clean, well stocked daily. Cabin steward very attentive. We enjoyed our dining experience very much. Excellent service from waiter Valentyn and Junior waiter Chen.they were very quick to pick up on our likes/dislikes. Great conversation and we enjoyed getting to know both of them. We ate breakfast every day in the dining room, several days lunch and 5 evenings of dinners. We especially enjoyed the tour of the galley..wonderful kitchen staff greeting us, nice to see “ behind the scenes” The entire on board experience was no complaints, good entertainment etc. Our only complaint was after docking in Juneau, we had booked a whale watch and Mendenhall glacier tour. It was extremely disorganized at the port. Considering this was close to end of season for Alaska this should run like clockwork..confusion over where to have us wait, which bus, poor communication etc. Overall the crew onboard did a remarkable job, courteous, professional, well groomed and super friendly. Well done Royal Princess..we enjoyed our dream trip to Alaska!

1 The itinerary was great, but Juneau was dropped due to weather 2 Service was very good 3Food was disappointing, MDR menu was very limited and food lacked flavour and authenticity .Buffet was limited only appearing large because of multiple stations. 4 Most included items were charged suddenly from mid August sailings. 5 The shore excursion in Ketchikan was badly managed. 6 The oft hyped afternoon tea was available on 2 days out of seven from 3.00 to 3.45 pm.

I booked a shore excursion for friends who were on the cruise with us.. but it was cancelled due to low visibility.. very disappointed. I would think they wouldn't advertise certain excursions during certain times of the year because of low visibility. We were told that we would receive our refund within 3-weeks.. today I was told it would be mid-October.. so it will now be 6-weeks! Very disappointed to say the least.

I wanted to write this review while it was still fresh as we just got back from Alaska late last night. We were on a 7-day cruise aboard the Royal Princess Sept 16-23rd from Seattle up the inside passage and back. First, the things that were not the fault of Princess: We had to cancel the visit to Juneau because of severe weather, so that led to us being at sea much more. It also meant the cancellation of the excursion we were most looking forward to. Secondly, we all got sick. Again, not the fault of Princess. Here's what was under their control: Princess decided in July to screw all their passengers out of benefits that used to be free, by suddenly charging for them. (room service, ordering food anywhere aboard ship, casual dining meals) etc. They even did this to customers like us who'd already paid in full for their cruise. I had to call four times pre cruise to cancel one particular package upgrade. ( I had paid for the Princess Plus upgrade, then changed my mind.) They kept telling us the charge would be credited back to our credit card in 5 to 7 business days. Instead it took from early July until the end of August. Four calls, very frustrating. The food aboard the ship was decent, but never very good and certainly not great. Everything looked much better than it tasted, and it became a running joke in our group that nothing really tasted like what it was supposed to taste like, from entrees down to dessert offerings. Horizons, the main dinning area buffet, had lots of food choices, but nothing very good for breakfast or lunch. Dinner service at our sit down restaurant (Allegro) was consistently good each night. The entertainment on board was fine, but the activities were repetitive night after night, lacking variety, and often were just sales pitches. This really upset me because I hate when something is promoted as a fun event or activity, but it's really just a way to sell you something. Finally disembarkation day was awful. Embarkation was perfect, btw. Quick and easy. However, at disembarkation we waited 90 minutes for a bus. Princess knew how many people had prepaid for a bus ride to the airport, but somehow they didn't have enough buses. Some people were extremely nervous about missing their flights. It looked very poorly organized, which was a shock, considering how well arrival day went a week earlier. Finally, I'd recommend not taking the last cruise of the season, as we did. This was the very last Alaska cruise for the Royal Princess, and burn out among the crew was obvious. While they were always polite, their frustration at people was clear. Some of these folks hadn't seen their loved ones in nine months, and you could tell they were about done. Positive memories include seeing Aurora Borealis (The Northern Lights) which was amazing, and Glacier Bay National Park (which was the reason I chose this particular cruise) it's a must-do! Though I can't blame Princess for the weather which caused cancellations, the mediocre food day after day after day, so-so activities, mess at disembarkation and poor phone customer service certainly soured us a bit. It'll be awhile before we cruise again.
