This is our third time on the Windsurf and we are just waiting to be able to go again. We were on for a month this criuse but unfortunately our fith week was cut short due to the Pandemic. This situation was handeled well and we will be back when this is all over and it will one day be over! My husband and I much appreciated the renovations to the ship. They were needed and were very well done. While this is not the right fit for everyone, it is perfect for us. We have been on the luxury big monstor ships and they were not our speed. This is definately a private yacht like feeling with a sense of community. If that is your aim then you will love this ship. There is a reason why there is an almost 80% client return rate. The food is exceptional. Much better than the Windsurf's much higher priced competitors. There is not one night that we did not think, "If this were a restaurant, we would come back". The quality, consistency and service were excellent. Anthony, the wine sommelier organized wine dinners with wine pairings and we just loved them. These were so much better than just simple wine tastings. We had a blast with the other couples he sat with us. This resulted in so many memorable moments and provided the opportunity to try wines which we normally woul not have. As noted over and over in reviews, Julain and his team just go above and beyond to make guests feel part of a wonderful happy family. Staff members are always attenive, know your name and what drink you like. James and his staff made sure that we had a wonderful trip booked each morining and found us some ideas off the beaten path that were so much fun. I wish that I could name everyone but one person is as wonderful as the next. Thank you to each and every one of you! Our daughters joined us for a week and you would think that this would not be a good fit for two university students on spring break. Well they can't wait until next year. Starting with the captain, everyone made sure that they had a wonderful time. There was a young female officer who showed them the workings of the brige, the band had a daytime rehersal in the closed lounge where they could all jam together, it goes on and on. Their wonderful cabin steward knew not to knock in the early morning.....The extra effort that was put inot their enjoyment was so appreciated and meant so much to my husband and myself . Thank you Windsurf. When this is over we will be back, make no mistake. Our wish is that our adopeted "Family" is safe and that we will all meet again soon. Your bigest Canadian fans, Dianne and Frank Steblaj

We left out of St. Martin and cruised mainly British Virgin Islands! Being a smaller ship it was much more personal. The world wide Covid-19 pandemic was starting to accelerate but on the ship and islands visited it went unnoticed. Everything was open as usual. We experienced no sickness on ship or any Island. I cannot say enough good things about all the crew and wait staff. In a word Phenomenal! Every meal was wonderful! The day before our cruise ended the crew was told that this would be the last cruise for about two months and nearly the entire crew would be going back home. These people are the bread winners of their families. Every single crew member was stoic! You never detected that they had just received this terrible news. They didn’t miss a beat in carrying out their jobs. This said volumes about the management of Windstar Cruises and the wonderful people that they hire to make the passengers feel special. May God Bless this Cruise Line and all who work their and may they get back working as soon as possible! Thank you all for such a wonderful cruise! We be cruising with you in the future! Tom, Pat, Barb and Bill

This was our first Windstar cruise. It won’t be our last. The Wind Surf was a great ship. I loved the food and service. The specialty restaurants are fantastic. The main dining, too, was very good. Never had to wait for a table. Cabin was spacious with plenty of storage. We stayed in a regular cabin. Captain and ship’s officers were always out with the passengers. For my wife and I we really liked the laid-back atmosphere. Great value for the money. Breakfast outside was always a great way to start the day.

This is our 8th sail with Windstar (3rd on the Wind Surf). We've sailed on other cruise lines, however we keep coming back to the smaller ships that Windstar has. They usually sail into ports that the bigger ships are not able to get into which is great as you're not dealing with huge crowds. We believe that the food is actually superior to the fare on the larger cruise lines, the cabins are spacious and nicely appointed. The commitment to excellence by the crew and staff is very obvious. It doesn't take too long before you are on a first name basis with the crew. The entertainment is top shelf. There's always a huge BBQ onboard ship one evening. The talented crew puts on a variety show another evening which is always a lot of fun. There are 3 dining venues (one which is under the stars). Laundry is available as an option (no dry cleaning service though). The casino that was on the Windsurf years ago was eliminated when they refurbished the ship (it never seemed to be popular with the passengers). This is not a cruise line for children, as there is nothing for them to do on board ship. We will sail with Windstar again in a few months along the shores of Alaska.

Small ship cruises are SO much better than gigantic mega-cruises. And, yes, they are more expensive. So, enjoy yourself more and take fewer cruises. It is worth it. Very nice ship. Very nice passengers. Good shore excursions. Small ships get more convenient berthing. The Wind Surf is not the most luxurious ship, but the whole "experience" just works.
