We are planning to visit Crater Lake in early June with out of town guests. Due to a disability, we are unable to hike (so I’m guessing that leaves out the boat ride on the lake, since one has to hike a mile to get there). Any other suggestions? We’re planning to drive around the perimeter and we’re driving up from the Bay Area in California. Thank you.
Is it worth going to Crater Lake today-cloudy rainy Wednesday April 18. We are just driving up from Medford and back
We are planning to end our trip to the Northwest in Crater Lake after probably a 3 1/2 hour drive from Redwoods NP. So since we will arrive in the early afternoon, it seems that we may need to stay 2 nights or leave the park early enough the second day for a 1 1/2 hour drive to Medford for our flight home the next morning. Please let me know your opinion as to whether we should stay the 2nd night. We'll only do short hikes and most likely be mostly driving through park. Thank you.
I am planning to visit Crater lake during thanksgiving. I see that it has already started snowing. I will be driving from Portland. If I take a rental car with traction tires and snow chains, will I be able to drive through to the Rim Village? How bad are the driving conditions around thanksgiving time? Please suggest extra precautions I need to take. I am from Atlanta and would like expert advice from people familiar with the place. Thanks in advance
I plan to visit during the Labor Day weekend. Did anyone recently visit there? I would like to know how serious it was effected by fire & smoke. Thank you.
