Hi Ian, I have read your interesting and enthusiastic review of the hotel. I was there two days ago (November 29) and, frankly, dont share your enthusiasm. While an upgrade on a first visit is really very nice, you mention nothing of the constant and pervasive construction site that the hotel has become. Perhaps you haven' t noticed? There are builders, machinery and stacks of building material, in addition to corridors formed by portable walls to 'hide' the construction, throughout the hotel facilities, outside. I was told this will last one more year, before completion. Has the hotel mentioned this on the website? Or offered to lower prices during this incredibly noisy and disturbing time? What good is an upgrade if you hear hammering and drills all day? I wonder what none of that is mentioned in the reviews?
Thanks for the photos NickL0311, I arrive at JBH on Monday for a 7 night stay and I've got to say after seeing these photos I'm not exactly ecstatic!!! Like you I have been told about the work but the extent I suppose you can really only find from other guests photos or by staying there. Its an expensive hotel not to experience a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. With my stressful life I need calm and relaxing, trying to stay positive about the holiday but I'm now struggling !!!
When is the current building work due to finish ?
May be staying here the end of November and want to avoid it.
I'm treating my daughter with a trip in January to this awesome hotel for her 21st birthday and really want to make it special. We are booking a ocean de lux room. Any suggestions on room numbers that is high floor with a breathtaking view over Burj al Arab that I can request for?
