We are a family of 5 adults visiting late Sept. The way i am reading these reviews seems to indicate you can drive the scenic main road thru the park and that is it. You will not see those amazing sand wave areas without the permit? Is that correct? I assume it would still be an amazing drive. Thanks, Bob from the Villages, Florida
Hi, if I just drive, will I find viewpoints to see the wave and white pockets? Do we get to see the earthen red structures even without having to enter the restricted access areas or do the trails? What do we get to see while we only drive at stop at fire points?
We are driving from Las Vegas to Page, planning to take Hwy 89. Was interested in taking a stop at Vermilion Cliffs-would like to know how much time would be required to see this site. Also, is it better to get back onto 89 to go on to Page or drive along 89A? It seems that 89A may be more scenic but requiring more travel time to reach Page. Any feedback would be very helpful and thanks in advance!
My Mom is 88 but would love to see some sites where she doesn't have to walk. Can she see the vermilion cliffs well enough without walking
How do you get to Vermilion Cliffs National Monument? Can you drive to see it or do you have to hike?
Has anyone done a day hike in the Paria Canyon. Is it nice enough if you can only go in a few hours and do not do the full 38 mile overnight hike?
How many miles to drive from Page to the Vermillion Cliff and Cliff Dwellers Stone House?
Are the roads paved or gravel/dirt?
