Dont freak its the safest place even in the evenings. There are always lots of tourists about and lots of lights as well. We just got back after 2 weeks there and will definitely go back. It is in the state of Guerrero but not at all like Playa Del Carmen.

Semena Santa is Easter. No worries, there will just be more people on the beach. As the other person said, this is not spring break, this is family time. Enjoy!

As already indicated, this is a Mexican religious holiday. No need for worry. You will just see more local Mexican families at the resort. We were previously at the resort during this time and still had a great time. Nice to see 3 generations of a family enjoying the resort. Just to be clear this is not like Spring Break. It's family time.

Don't know about Semana Santa but we really liked Barcelo. We have stayed at other all-inclusive in the past but we had our best time at Barcelo.

Semana Santa is a religious week of Lent. This starts with Ash Wednesday. I wouldn't worry about this. Enjoy your time at Barcelo. It's a great place.
