When I visited a couple of weeks ago there were at least three dogs there. The hotel seems to be more than happy to accept well behaved dogs, the walks are wonderful.
They can't be left alone in the rooms, I think there had been "an incident" when the chambermaid tried to clean the room.
I took my guide dog puppy with me and the staff could not have been more helpful, even puppy sitting when I played golf! The puppy was allowed everywhere a fully trained guide dog would go, with no question. This is so helpful in giving the pup experience of different environments.
I must admit we never saw a dog and, if I had, I may not have booked the hotel unless the dogs were refused entry to the bedrooms.
As previous answers, I've seen one or two residents with small dogs. Best to ask the Hotel.
We have stayed at the "Cally" many times but have never seen a dog actually in the hotel. We have however, seen them in the grouinds but always on a leash.
We go golfing so can't possibly say if they are allowed on rooms, but there are a lot of people who walk dogs in the woods and I have seen people who have dog cages in their vehicles and leave them overnight so I would suggest that you would need to ask the hotel directly.
They do take dogs
