tip or no tip? In Spain is not customary but I feel that I should tip specially if the service is outstanding. Thoughts?

Hi, Gisela,

In Spain, a tip is already added to the bill, but if you get exceptional service, a small tip would certainly be appreciated. And Arzak definitely had exceptional service for us! Enjoy!

In Spain, a 5-10% tip is fine for most restaurants. We did tip over 10% at Arzak because we felt the service was truly superb.

Hi Gisela, tipping is not customary in Australia either, unless you feel the experience was worth it, and the price. If so, we customarily do 10%. For Arzak, we had no hesitation in leaving a tip. Hope this helps.

I am pretty sure we tipped, probably 10-15%; NYC is typically 20% so that is low for us and hard not to do it : ), especially after such a great a meal and amazing service.

Tipping is not expected in Spain. For exceptional service I would give 5%.

I Always tip, 10% where tipping is not customary and anywhere from 15-18%

depending on City and or service.

I believe that tipping is not expected in Spain, as service is included, but a small gratuity is appreciated and appropriate if service is excellent--perhaps 5-7%.
