Dec - Feb is the perfect period for visiting this area of India. We didn't find any special problems with mosquitoes. We got a few bites each. Wise to carry some repellent and after-bite treatment. There isn't a bigger problem than any other place out in the country .

I believe that any time between December and March is an ideal time to visit. As for mosquitos, yes there are a few and they are pretty active. But they're a small price to pay to experience such a wonderful place.

I was there in late January early February and it was pleasant for daytime walks. I wore repellant in the evenings and wasn't pestered at all, but take repellant just in case.

We were there first week of February, and it was perfect, so sure that January would also be great.

Go - whatever you do - you won't regret it! As one of the previous reviewers said, you will need repellent. I am usually in trouble, but I had no major problems there.

Absolutely lovely people. Take advantage of going round the farm, watching the cook and even being rafted down the river.

January would be an ideal time to visit. We were there in March, there were one or two mosquitos about but it would be hard to find anywhere in India were there were none at all. A quick squirt of insect repellent before going outside in the evening was sufficient to keep us free from any bites (and believe me, mosquitos love biting me!)

Dewolakam is a beautiful place to stay, the food is fantastic and the people are lovely.

January is a great month and we never got any mosquitos. Fabulous place and our favorite in Kerala by far. You'll love it.
