just got a bit confused about The Redwoods...so it's actually a free-access (and free of charge) forest that we can go in any time (24/7)? even on Christmas day? and we don't need to get and tickets?
"The Redwoods Tree Walk" is something (commercial) else - that you need to pay and walk on well-built/ developed pathway?
Recently walked at the Redwoods and enjoyed the new tree top walk which there is as cost $15 if over 65 otherwise $25. Only 8 people allowed at a time. It is a one way direction walk. Children cannot be carried obviously for safety reasons. I would like to try it again at night time with the beautiful lanterns going.
Yes its open to the public free of charge. The elevated walk is something different and expensive. I don't know hours the forest is open to the public or specific days that it might not be. You may want to check with their website for those.
Tree walk is about $25 per adult. If you just want to walk through the trees at ground level then it is free. Beware of mountain bikers as they often use the tracks as well. Well worth the visit with kids.
Yes you can walk around on the ground. If you want to do the tree top walk you have to pay. I'm not sure if that is an option Christmas Day. We didn't do the tree top walk. Just the walks on the ground. It was a beautiful experience. So quiet and cool. Big trees and soft underfoot.
