LOFT Hotel Bratislava Questions & Answers

Benfleet, United Kingdom

Hi I have 2 questions!! Firstly how much does it cost for a taxi from Bratislava airport to hotel? I am not interested in the hotel limousine to pick me up and not sure how easy it is via pubic transport thought taxi would be easier!! Also is it worth paying extra for the buffet breakfast or are there plenty of cafes/restaurants nearby to go for breakfast instead? Thank you

Not sure about a taxi as we went by train from Budapest to Bratislava and then just a 10 minute walk to the hotel, we only had rucksacks with us There are a couple of mini markets about 100 yards away but plenty of places in the centre about 10 minutes walk.

Public bus was really easy,it cost us less than 1 euro each by public bus and was a 35 minute journey from the airport. We used google maps to check where to get off the bus- it was a 5-10 minute walk from the bus stop to the hotel.

We don't eat much for breakfast and so bought some cereal and milk as there is a fridge in the rooms, but the restaurant did look nice.

The hotel booked us a taxi it doesn't have a limousine, I can't remember how much it was.

It depends on what you want for breakfast - there aren't many places to eat nearby where you could get breakfast. It was a good choice at the hotel.

Hi. Regarding taxi, never, NEVER take a taxi that is waiting somewhere in Bratislava. Because they will charge you lot of money. Always call a taxi by a phone or app (Uber, Hopin, VB). To get from airport to LOFT you can also use bus, it is easy and cheap. And it stops near Primacialny palac (don't know the exact name of the station).

To your second question, yes you can eat at local restaurants, but I would take breakfast at the hotel, those are very good, lot of stuff to choose from.

i took the taxi from the railway station. You do not need to pre-book. However, be aware that the taxi guys will try to over-charge you so be prepared to negotiate, starting at half the amount they quote is not a bad idea.

Regarding breakfast - while the hotel will provide you good breakfast, i d=strongly recommend that you try one of the cafes at the city center for great breakfast options.

Hi, I did the journey this summer and prebooked a taxi using Suntransfers because they were recommended on TripAdvisor. It cost 13 euros and I could not fault them. I prebooked because I had read the costs can vary alot if you just get in one at the airport and not all drivers speak English, and I dont speak Slovak. Also I was arriving late and the hourly bus had stopped running. The journey is not far.

As for the breakfast it depends on your personal preference. All I can say is that it was buffet style but was a really good quality. I felt it was worth it as I like to eat first and then go exploring. There are no cafes on the doorstep that I remember. The old town, with many cafes, is a few minutes walk away (5 mins to the edge & 10mins to St Micheal's Gate), if you prefer to sit and take in the atmosphere while you eat.

We just had the limo transfer for €23. It was a very smart car and an efficient service. English speakers. Transfer is about 30 mins. There is public transport but to be honest we thought it was worth the money. Our package included breakfast but as I said it was both very good and plenty of it. There are no cafes within 5 minutes walk but the old town's only10 min walk. Anything else you want let me know!

Taxi cost using a local taxi company is between 10-15 Euros. It will cost more using an airport taxi. We used Hello Taxi, who were very good.

Breakfast here is very good. You could walk into town but I doubt you'd find much better value elsewhere for the extra hassle in the morning. The buffet is very comprehensive.

We found, and so did others we talked to, that taxi drivers try to rip you off quoting high rates for short journeys. Are other places to eat but the buffet at The Loft is absolutely superb and great value.
