My husband, 7 1/2 year old daughter and I are going on a cruise in March and one of our stops is Roatan. We are not big group people and would love to see more of the island than just the beach. When you booked your time with Arnold was it a flat fee for the transportation and then additional cost to make a stop at the monkey and sloth hangout, etc.? Just curious what additional costs we would need to be prepared for. Also, were you the only passengers or was it shared transportation?
Appreciate any input or advice you can give.
And it was a private tour, just us.
We paid a flat fee of $25/person (we had more than 4 in our group, travelled with 6 family members) and then I believe it was $10 for the park.
When we booked with Rony's guide (and it is the same with Victor Bodden tours who we have been with twice) you are paying a flat fee for the transportation. I would recommend either of these companies. They will work with you to make sure you see what you want, on your time frame.
We are not really beach people either so we spent our time touring the island, went to lunch at a local spot, went to the museum and cameo factory. Victor Bodden's tours go to his home where he has a large zip line and monkeys and other wildlife. The prices are on the website. No additional costs unless you want to do extra. The museum of Roatan is only $1 per person. A nice little stop for some information on the island and it's history.
