Rogner Hotel Tirana Questions & Answers

Iowa City, Iowa

i am arriving on July 16. On the late afternoon of July 17, I want someone to drive the 2 of us to Pristina one way. Do you know a car/taxi service that would do this? How much would it cost? We do not want to take a 6 hour bus ride and flying is very indirect.

The price is 225 Euro, and here is included fuel and insurance.

It seems only SIXT rent a car is allowing for different country dropoff so you could see with them directly if possible to take the car in Tirana and leave it in Pristina.

Dear AKW52245

I re-read your question, sorry I didn't realize you don't come back to Tirana..so if you are going to rent a car you definitely should check if drop-off location could be in another country (Kosovo in your case) which I am not sure if possible. Will ask some colleagues in Kosovo what would they suggest, stay tuned.

Dear AKW52245

I was told by locals that rent-a-car would be the best option (cost and time-wise) so I booked a Chevy Cruze at Tirana Airport (Hertz) and drove around (went up to Peja, stopped at Prizren on return, then back to Albania - Shkodra first and Tirana at last). Guys at Hertz looked a bit shady but it all went well eventually. Check the car before taking it (I discovered on the road that mine didn't have a spare tire nor snow chains..mind it was mid March, heavy snowing is not uncommon there). Rental cost was around 150 euro (for 6 days). Roads (inc. 'highway' in Albania) are in rather poor conditions so be prudent. Road signs (especially in Kosovo) are confusing at times so bring a sat nav (Here Maps worked well) just to be on the safe side. Good luck!
