You are allowed 200 cigarettes and 1ltr of spirits. There are loads of take offs... People were having leather jackets/coats made.

Hi, I would say the best buys are the prices you are happy with, shop around and haggle like crazy, I found if your not happy with a price walk away they will soon chase you with a lower price. Regarding duty free on cigarettes and tobacco the allowance is really low, for other items I am not sure about I would always advise checking out the government Webb site it has duty free limits on there regarding most countries and items, its a sure way you can't go wrong with advice.

You can lots of locally made stuff like pottery, drums, ornaments. Mostly have Tunisian style patterns or camels.

You will also find lots of clothing and designer stuff. In the markets its most prob fake stuff.

Shop around and just politely fob off the advances of overly friendly pushy shopkeepers. They know to intimidate customers into buying.

the best buys are usually in shops with fixed price...and you can at least know you are buying the real thing! can get pritty much anything and most shops sell the same tatt and produce..but never pay the price they ask at markets..set it ridiculously lower and work on that. silver is a Good buy but beware of ripp offs. everyone is your best friend and does it the cheapest. dont have all your money on show and out small amounts in different places otherwise they Will be very pushy and know you have money to waste!!
